It's / on linux and \ on windows
So using that will handle any path issues
Jonathan Neal
@jonathantneal
I echo’d process.cwd() and process.argv and require.main.paths. None of them contain a relative path to my project before I’ve saved a file. This has nothing to do with my earlier issue; but I’m seeing if I could “get two birds with one stone” as they say.
I’d be fun if it tried to use the project’s node_modules on a yet-saved file.
I’d have to know if you can forward the current project dir into node cmd run from python.

@ben-eb
Oh :) Not sure
Don't know any Python, know some Ruby

I’m snooping around eslint to see if I can catch it.

Gah. Sometimes Sublime sends a tmp file to the plugin, which is the issue. Like /var/folders/q4/gn3rv1ss11n9lfhfjc6cn8l0wjymg3/T/SublimeLinter3-jona0005/directionsMap.css

Why is stylelint using babel? Stylelint requires Node 4.2.1+ to run, and it partially supports ES2015 syntax. I'm asking, because I want to switch to ES2015 in my PostCSS plugin, but don't want to transpile it :)
Ben Briggs
@ben-eb
My guess is that stylelint is using features that are available in es2015 which are not natively supported
For example:
function foo (...features) {
  features.forEach(...);
}
Aleks Hudochenkov
@hudochenkov
@ben-eb do you think it's safe to use ES2015 syntax (supported in Node 4) in PostCSS plugins without transpiling?
Ben Briggs
@ben-eb
Yes
If you explicitly list that as a caveat
Like that you need Node 4 and up to use the module

Thank you, Ben :)

No probs :)

Hi there, how to make stylelint to recognize PostCSS composes property?
Any extra rule over stylelint-config-standard? I'm using stylelint plugin for vscode
Andrey Sitnik
@ai
@code4aman you could set a properties whitelist
Aman Kubanychbek
@code4aman
I resolved this by adding "property-no-unknown" with "ignoreProperties" : ["composes"]. Looks like simply defining properties whitelist overrides stylelint-config-standard configs
Pascal Duez
@pascalduez
Which are overrides basically.

I love spreading the good news of Stylelint! I brought Stylelint to 10up, and now I’m bringing it to Esri.
David Clark
@davidtheclark
awesome @jonathantneal. does that mean you work for esri now? or you're just working with them?
Jonathan Neal
@jonathantneal
They are my employer and they keep sending me checks, and they flew me to California and back home and gave me a badge.
I think … I think that means I work for them, but I do also work with them. We work … together.
David Clark
@davidtheclark
@jonathantneal interesting. i also work on GIS at Mapbox — hear about ESRI a lot. hope it goes well for you!

by using stylelint can we force to not to use use color without using a variable?

do you guys have a test for when extends is a module name ?
I am passing { extends: 'stylelint-config-suitcss' } to the postcss plugin and I get this error

Hi everyone! I'm working on the internals of stylelint and i'm trying to figure out what the difference between stylelint._fullExplorer and style._extendExplorer is - why the two exist and what they're used for
Anyone around who might be able to shed some light on that?
Giuseppe
@giuseppeg
hi folks, we would like to ignore node_modules in suitcss-preprocessor and afaik we can either add a .stylelintignore at the root of the project (although I am not sure if it'll work when preprocessor is a dependency) or use an hack where we extend styleling-config-suitcss. Suggestions? cc @jeddy3 @davidtheclark
David Clark
@davidtheclark
@giuseppeg i thought node_modules is ignored by default
Giuseppe
@giuseppeg
@davidtheclark we are linting imported files and the entry file and apparently node_modules are not ignored
David Clark
@davidtheclark
@giuseppeg please file an issue. we're not generally on gitter.
Giuseppe
@giuseppeg
@davidtheclark oh do you think that it is a bug?
