@TheBB
Section 3 in particular.
Amos Bird
@amosbird
@TheBB Will astyle be supported? Or is there an equivalent package?
Fabien Dubosson
@StreakyCobra
3.5 could be useful :-)
Eivind Fonn
@TheBB
@amosbird What language do you want to format?
Amos Bird
@amosbird
c++ and java
Eivind Fonn
@TheBB
You should use c styles then.
If you have the right style set you should be able to reformat a buffer with =ig. Hopefully.
Amos Bird
@amosbird
@TheBB Can I reuse my astylerc file?
Eivind Fonn
@TheBB
I don't know of any way to convert an astyle config file to an Emacs c-style.
If you want to use astyle maybe you are better off trying to find an Emacs package for it, or writing one yourself.

@ashnur
how do you see directory structure, open files and switch between open buffers? for example i have at least 6 index.js files in the same project because modules. usually i just loop over the opened buffers, but then suddenly instead of a js file, i get the documentation interface I opened yesterday and i just want to move forward, but then obviously the same shortcut key doesn't work anymore. I try to close the buffer, which then closes the whole frame or whatever that thing is which contains the buffer content. (i know it normally wouldn't but I have neotree open all the time), so then I remain with neotree where i select manually and open it. takes more than writing this huge question :)
luxbock
@luxbock
@ashnur I use SPC pf when navigating between files/buffers in a project usually
Eivind Fonn
@TheBB
@ashnur Yes, as @luxbock said, but there's also a nice trick called something like persistent action in helm. Let me see if I can find it.
luxbock
@luxbock
@TheBB I only discovered your videos yesterday and ended up binge watching through most of them when ill, nice job
Eivind Fonn
@TheBB
Thanks :-)
Moesasji
@moesasji
@TheBB: yes seen it, but that document is mostly is about layers. I'm configuring mu4e in dotspacemacs/user-config; using require 'mu4e-contrib in that function slows startup down noticeably and `use-package there doesn't work.
Eivind Fonn
@TheBB
@ashnur Okay I can't find it now, but there's a way to have helm "preview" the buffer you are about to switch to without closing the helm session.
luxbock
@luxbock
@TheBB I'd also really enjoy videos where you work on some thing using layers you are familiar with
Eivind Fonn
@TheBB
@luxbock Yeah I have several ideas. Just need time. :-/
@moesasji Why doesn't use-package work there?
Alejandro Catalina
@AlejandroCatalina

Eivind Fonn
@TheBB
I have many uses of use-package in my config function.

Alejandro Catalina
@AlejandroCatalina
is there a way to see all keybinds on mu4e?
i don't know how to mark all as read -.-
Moesasji
@moesasji
@TheBB It didn't work because i only replace require by use-package. I missed that I also need remove the quote in front of mu4e-contrib. Now it works as expected.

@ashnur
I am trying to figure out what's my actual problem is. For example I had some fuzzy search open file set up before which I can't find now because I haven't needed it in a while
i remember it was set on C-x f
but that freezes emacs to a halt now
Fabien Dubosson
@StreakyCobra
@AlejandroCatalina Usually I do SPC : mu4e- and navigate in the list.
Aron Gabor
@ashnur
i wonder how much time i would have to spend with the internals of emacs so these things wouldn't be this opaque for me. i don't think this is an issue with emacs
Alejandro Catalina
@AlejandroCatalina
that's nice, thanks @StreakyCobra
;)
emacs takes some time to customize
i change my theme and a lot of config every now and then, so it takes time
but also saves a lot of it
Aron Gabor
@ashnur
i would change it too if I knew how :D
luxbock
@luxbock
SPC hk shows you a which-key view of all key-bindings

@ashnur
i feel that spacemacs is an aircraft carrier and i am playing table tennis on the deck as a freerider

luxbock
@luxbock
is there a key to clear the input in Helm?
Alejandro Catalina
@AlejandroCatalina
@luxbock, you say you're proficient on clojure, right?
luxbock
@luxbock
@AlejandroCatalina yeah for some definition of proficient :)
Alejandro Catalina
@AlejandroCatalina
yeah right, you work with clojure or you became proficient on your own free time?
luxbock
@luxbock
@AlejandroCatalina I have never had a job programming (or doing anything really) but I've been working on a personal project for the past few years using Clojure
and then some random side projects as well
