I'm unable to use yasnippet. I'm in scala-mode. M-X yas-describe-tables shows me the options, but TAB is not working. How do I activate a snippet?
Nathan Tomsic
@ntomsic
@a13ph where does the .spacemacs file live ? it doesn't even generate that
dre-hh
@dre-hh
@aparo there is a helm-yas command, on evil mode its on spc i s
for insert snippet
just look for it on the emacs command search ( M - x or spc : in evil )
it opens a snippet search, where you grep for the snippet, and then it inserts it on enter
its not for autocomplete though
@a13ph .spacemacs lives in the $HOME directory
Nathan Tomsic
@ntomsic
hmm
why the hell is the https timeout set to 5
that's so low
Alberto Paro
@aparo
@dre-hh thanks probably I'll add a shortcut

Hi everyone.
I am working on a codebase that has an indentation of 2 spaces in .jsx
The default in Spacemac’s layer is 4.
How can I change this behavior?
Jonathan del Strother
@jdelStrother
@StevenXL (setq js2-basic-offset 2), I think

Hey, I was just takin a look at the load times and couldn't help noticing that some packages (like srefactor) take sth like 0.9s (!) to load even though they are supposed to be lazy loaded (use-package :defer t). How is that possible ?
Matt Bianchi
@mattrbianchi
@a13ph That definitely cleans it up. Basically what I want is, in vim, I could set a column width and, as I typed, vim would move my word that violated the width to the next line without putting an actual end of line character in it. This way, markdown stays nice and tidy, but doesn't look weird in a google doc or something.

Does anyone know how to temporarily hide(buffer local) ~ after the end of a buffer http://i.imgur.com/9yQvAPJ.png

How can I clear the search highlighting (Vim's :noh)? Or better, can I make it not happen in the first place?
Ag Ibragimov
@agzam
@JAremko you mean you don’t like seeing tildas?
SPC T ~ or M-x spacemacs/toggle-vi-tilde-fringe
a13ph
@a13ph
@laMudri it's a good idea to first try what you'd expect. :noh actually works. and from there you can check what function was used, which can point out some keywords or funtions to which you want to find related variables. also, look up variables in SPC h d v or just anything in SPC f1/SPC h d d by using some keyword guesses and focusing on commands and variables (since you usually wish to change something in one go, rather than
by glueing functions)
well, it may be that :noh only works in develop, i can't be sure
@lamudri global-evil-search-highligh-persist command would disable such behavior at all, you can put it into your user-config function in your config

@a13ph, :noh doesn't work for me, so I don't know what's wrong there.

Hi. How do I get accents in evil spacemacs? Like C-x 8 ' e for é

@jdelStrother I suggest you explore C-x C-k group of bindings. Emacs has extremely rich macro system. You can create a macro, then explore the underliying elisp, edit it and save it as a function, etc.

Ah, changing evil-search-module from evil-search to isearch seems to make a difference. Does evil-search have any advantages?
Wilson Chiang
@WilsonChiang
is there a way to get like basic errorr highlighting for ruby for things like undefined variable? Or is that part of the gtags stuff?
Brandon Conway
@brandoncc
flycheck should provide that for you
in the syntax-checking layer I think
Wilson Chiang
@WilsonChiang
hmm ok maybe its because im using the rubocop for checking?
Brandon Conway
@brandoncc
it tells me all of my rails methods are undefined lol

hey guys…. noob question… is there a way to copy filepath of file under cursor in dired (without opening it)
Steven Leiva
@StevenXL
@jdelStrother Thanks for the reply. Couldn’t find that setting.

Using the windows version, has anyone else noticed that helm-ag returns multiple instances of the same result ?

Hello folks.
I’m trying to modify the configuration of the react layer.
However, I see setq-default in various locations in my .spacemacs file.
How do I know if I should put this in dotspacemacs/layers function or dotspacemacs/init?
