C-c C-p d I think
hint: if the treemacs pane has the focus you can press ? and get all available commands for treemacs

[Treemacs] Cannot delete the last project.
dragonchaser
@dragonchaser:matrix.datenschmutz.space
[m]
yeah you have to have at least one project in treemacs (which is kinda weird to me)
just add a temp path outside your home as project and then remove the homefolder project
Santiago Sanchez
@Guisanpea
Wow
Thanks a lot
It was driving me completely crazy
And now I wonder. If I want to just explore my home folder from treemacs which would be the way to go?
dragonchaser
@dragonchaser:matrix.datenschmutz.space

@Guisanpea: np, ran into the same a couple of weeks ago
if you use evil mode you can do :split /home/user

Is there a way to "temporary maximize window" in emacs?
dragonchaser
@dragonchaser:matrix.datenschmutz.space
[m]
@Guisanpea: spc-m-m -> maximize-window
Santiago Sanchez
@Guisanpea
And to go back?
dragonchaser
@dragonchaser:matrix.datenschmutz.space
[m]
good question 😀
probably sth with restore in the name
Santiago Sanchez
@Guisanpea
And one last that my google foo cannot help
Search by file name in project?
dragonchaser
@dragonchaser:matrix.datenschmutz.space
[m]
you can use mouse to resize
Daniel Nicolai
@dalanicolai
@Guisanpea @dragonchaser:matrix.datenschmutz.space I guess you meant SPC w m, and I think SPC w u should restore the previous window configuration... It seems to work fine from a simple test here...
fran-penedo
@fran-penedo
@Guisanpea maximize/restore: SPC w m will do both. Search by file name in project: SPC p f, although beware it ignores usually ignored files
@dalanicolai just end me now, I never realized there was an undo for window configurations....
Daniel Nicolai
@dalanicolai
@fran-penedo Haha... I never knew SPC w m restores also... was just writing that arguably, your answer looks a little nicer...
fran-penedo
@fran-penedo
yeah, for maximizing and restoring it's better, but sometimes something breaks the window configuration I was using and it's annoying to set it up again
dragonchaser
@dragonchaser:matrix.datenschmutz.space

SPC w m does not restore for me, but SPC w u works for restore
Daniel Nicolai
@dalanicolai
I usually use SPC / for project wide search (or SPC * for symbol under point) and SPC s f to search in the ignored directories
Although there are other easy ways to search within ignored directories also
@dragonchaser:matrix.datenschmutz.space Okay great!
fran-penedo
@fran-penedo
weird that it doesn't restore for you :S
Daniel Nicolai
@dalanicolai
@fran-penedo Here SPC w m also does not restore when treemacs is active
fran-penedo
@fran-penedo
oh ok, I don't use treemacs so never realized
Daniel Nicolai
@dalanicolai
Haha... me neither... just quickly tested it now

Does anyone know what setting or settings I would need to adjust so that the current block scope indication also increases the size of the currently highlighted delimiters in addition to changing the color?

Hi I got this bug ``` Auto-evilification could not remap these functions in map ‘edebug-mode-map’:
  • ‘edebug-Go-nonstop-mode’ originally mapped on ‘G’
    ``` and says my spacemacs might not work properly. How do I fix this
Tobias Langer
@empwilli_gitlab
luyangliuable: those two issues should not be related AFAIK, please check SPC bm for any error messages
Luyang Liu
@luyangliuable
Loading /home/luyang/.spacemacs.d/init.el (source)...done
(Spacemacs) Error in dotspacemacs/init: Attempt to set a constant symbol: nil
I am not sure how to debug this
Tobias Langer
@empwilli_gitlab
bisect the error by commenting out half of your own config
and then progressing
I see thanks
other than that: if you dont' have any sensible things in there, probably best put it into a paste bin and dump the link in here
How do I do "Show current project file in treemacs"?
1 reply
John teBokkel
@tanj
is there a way to take the current region and make it active (highlighted like in transient mark mode)
Daniel Nicolai
@dalanicolai
@tanj There is the activate-mark function, but you must make a command for it yourself. Alternatively you can type g v, which in many cases (or maybe all cases) does the same...
Hi
Seems like a cool project. I found you only by searching matrix rooms. Do you have a website to start? Couldn't find it in the room details...
Hi guys.
Here is my current setup:
Remote linux machine where all stuff happens.
Local windows machine currently running vscode, using ssh I work on remote the files.
Can I replace vscode with windows emacs, and add spacemacs, and connect to remote machine and setup project there? Fyi i have ssh key, not password for connecting remote machine
And pls dont suggest cygwin, I really prefers non emulated emacs build
Daniel Nicolai
@dalanicolai
@idanre1:matrix.regev.tk I have no experience with working on remote machines using emacs, so maybe someone else can give more useful advice. But I guess you should be able to do that by just installing Emacs for windows (and add Spacemacs configuration to get Spacemacs). On the other hand I've found that the best Emacs experience on 'windows' is provided by WSL i.c.m with some x-server. It worked great here. If you are interested in that, then you can find very useful instructions here
