I've been looking into series expansion. Like you pointed out, the major issue would be to figure out an api. Much of that discussion should hopefully be done by us by the time I apply. Do you think it should be enough for the summer or should I add anything else to my application?
I'll finish a first draft of my proposal shortly so that everyone can comment on it.

@certik Having solvers for CSympy should also be interesting. But given that Sympy's new solvers isn't very stable yet, I'm not so sure we should port that yet. What do you think?

Is it so? I was actually planning for solvers in csympy and benchmark it against sympy

I am really interested in implementingsolvers.Even a basic solver will lead to simplifying code in other areas as said in #268.

Then I'd suggest you go with your interest. Having solvers would indeed be great.
