@StoicBronco, UnivariatePolynomial is a child class of Basic which is supposed to be immutable. UnivariateExprPolynomial is not a child class of Basic and is mutable

Why is it present only on some functions? Aren't there many more functions which are guaranteed not gonna throw?

@myluszczak I think SymPy also follows the second option. Because the expressions can be quite complicated, you would not want to expand/evaluate them unless you need to.
