    HELP!

    I updated to 2.7.5 and also textboxfield to 2.8.1

    I'm note sure if the updates are related but now the site just displays a blank page, when I view the source it says:

    <!DOCTYPE html>
    <html>
        <head>
            <meta charset="utf-8">
            <style type="text/css">
                html, body, #partner, iframe {
                    height:100%;
                    width:100%;
                    margin:0;
                    padding:0;
                    border:0;
                    outline:0;
                    font-size:100%;
                    vertical-align:baseline;

    seems like a parked page from your host… did you check any php error logs just in case? - though its more likely to be a host configuration issue (even if you have an error it should show a 500 instead)
    Peter Fleck
    @peterfleck_twitter
    Checking it now, the last entry in the Symphony log was 2018-04-16 17:41:49 > Warning: GenericErrorHandler 2: session_decode(): Session is not active. You cannot decode session data on line 224 of file /home.../htdocs/symphony/symphony/lib/core/class.session.php
    Nicolas Brassard
    @nitriques
    This html does not come from symphony
    @peterfleck_twitter was it fixed ?
    Peter Fleck
    @peterfleck_twitter
    Thanks @nitriques . Not yet. I can't nail it. It seems to be connected to the domain. I created a temp folder with a simple index file and redirected the domain. It had the same problem. Sub-domains are all working fine.
    Nicolas Brassard
    @nitriques
    what the domain ?
    Manaus
    @Manaus
    Hello I get a mod_rewrite is not enabled on a website where the module is enabled, how can I find out the culprit?
    The page in this case is a subdirectory, the root one is working fine
    Wannes Debusschere
    @wdebusschere
    @Manaus you need to enable this in the Apache configuration file
    Manaus
    @Manaus
    The Symphony website is in the subdir as a standalone app, but on accessing the index I get this error
    Wannes Debusschere
    @wdebusschere
    if its shared hosting this will probably be enabled
    Manaus
    @Manaus
    It is
    The root website is already modrewriting
    Wannes Debusschere
    @wdebusschere
    all the pages of the root website?
    Manaus
    @Manaus
    yep
    Wannes Debusschere
    @wdebusschere
    ok, you need to change the htaccess of the subdir
    RewriteBase /subdirnale
    /subdirname sorry
    Manaus
    @Manaus
    Oh
    Nicolas Brassard
    @nitriques
    @Manaus theorixally, the installer does this for you
    Manaus
    @Manaus
    I'm copying from local to remote, tried out RewriteBase /mydir but nope...
    Nicolas Brassard
    @nitriques
    try "/mydir/"
    Manaus
    @Manaus
    Nada
    Wannes Debusschere
    @wdebusschere
    is the htacess correct?
    .htaccess
    check the php log
    Manaus
    @Manaus
    I don't think I have a php log available, I have Apache, but returns no strange behaviour
    Nicolas Brassard
    @nitriques
    @Manaus What error are you getting again ?
    And if you delete the .htaccess from the root, does it starts to work ?
    Manaus
    @Manaus
    That is definitely the right track, @nitriques , deleting the root .htaccess makes the site visible
    Nicolas Brassard
    @nitriques
    @Manaus try adding Options -Indexes in the root .htaccess
    Or somthing like RewriteRule ^sub_dir - [L]
    Manaus
    @Manaus
    Thanks @nitriques
    Nicolas Brassard
    @nitriques
    @Manaus Did it worked ?

    Hi guys, I am almost done implementing Email Newsletter Manager (ENM) for the first time, everything's great, only I neglected the prerequisites in the beginning, which I am solving now. I came to the point in which I need to create a symlink to the mysql socket. I got the socket at disposal within the hosting - let's say /tmp/db.sock - but I don't know how should the symlink look like - I guess what name should it have, and where to create it on the hosting; so it would be picked up by the mysqli_connect. I am clueless about this... Have you solved this in the past and could you give me a hand with this?
    michael-e
    @michael-e
    Is this a webhost or a local install? On a webhost, this should not be necessary. Have you tested to connect?
    Juraj Kapsz
    @jurajkapsz
    @michael-e webhosting. I have found in logs Warning: GenericErrorHandler 2: mysqli_connect(): (HY000/2002): No such file or directory on line 355 of file .../symphony/lib/toolkit/class.mysql.php, after hitting Send from the newsletter entry and nothing was being done. So I thought I have to create that symlink mentioned in ENM docs. But maybe this is caused because I had to put a path to the php executable so the php example header('Content-Type: text/plain'); echo shell_exec('php -v'); as one of the prerequisites would work, like header('Content-Type: text/plain'); echo shell_exec('/usr/php56/bin/php -v')? I ahve hardcoded that path into the php as of now, but probably I could create a symlink on that php executable...
    @michael-e I was told by the webhosting support I have to use that path with the "php" command in order to work.
    And afterwards it did work, I get returned php -v info
    @michael-e and sorry, what do you mean to test to connect? to the given mysql socket? And I would do that through a php script? I am bit lost in this..
    Juraj Kapsz
    @jurajkapsz
    On local install I did not tried to send e-mails. I uploaded the project on webhosting server were it will be run to test that step.
    Juraj Kapsz
    @jurajkapsz
    @michael-e DAMN I got it. I messed up with the config.php database settings... ah, facepalm once again. Thanks very much Michael. It works now.
