Clarity required: We are supposed to add a link to our proposal here https://github.com/sympy/sympy/wiki/GSoC-2020-Current-Applications in order to get suggestions before submitting it on the GSoC page right?

@Arpan612
@sava-1729 I think since time is less, it will be a good idea to submit an idea with pdf for the time being. After receiving suggestions, you can make the edits.

shouldn't simplify(Sum(i, (i, 0, 10))) actually call doit()? or is there some reasoning behind this not happening?

I was thinking to extend the sympy library in machine and deep learning field. Can I introduce this it in my gsoc proposal if the idea seems to be good?

@Arpan612 thanks for the suggestion. I'll do that as soon as I'm finished formatting my application.
Also, apparently some internal error occurred during the Travis CI checks on my PR #18861. What am I supposed to do?

Mentors, if we have submitted two proposals on different topics, where do we need to mention our priority if both get selected?

You can note in the proposal which one you prefer to do. However note that we may accept either so don't submit a proposal if you don't want to do it.
Arpan Chattopadhyay
@Arpan612
@asmeurer Sir, I am highly interested in both proposals and would be delighted to work in either. This preference is just a formality for me since gsoc dev community mentions it.
@asmeurer Is it okay if I declare my preference only if both get selected i.e. after results?
Aaron Meurer
@asmeurer
no, only one would be accepted. we cannot accept two proposals from a single student
Arpan Chattopadhyay
@Arpan612
Also sir, please go through the above and give me your reviews.
Aaron Meurer
@asmeurer
if you have a preference you need to let us know about it now
Arpan Chattopadhyay

@asmeurer So, sir just writing first preference on one of the proposals is sufficient?

Hello Everyone,
My name is Ayush Shukla, I am a Second year undergraduate student of Electrical Engineering student at National Institute of Technology Surat, Gujarat, India. I am a Red Hat Certified System Administrator on Red Hat Linux 8. I am quite experienced on Python and have a good hands on using Python libraries. I have studied various methods of solving Ordinary Differential Equation, Integration and Interpolation like Rugge-Kutta second and forth order, Eular's method, Newton-Raphsons method, Bisection method and many other methods.

@Shekharrajak I want to work on Solvers idea. I have already worked on similar projects . I am sorry for me for late application but due to COVID-19 I faced a lot of problems and didn't have internet for few days.

Arpan Chattopadhyay
@Arpan612
@asmeurer I have asked some questions on the assumptions proposal. Please have a look at the google groups. Also, is writing 'first preference' at the end on one of the proposals sufficient?
Vatsal Srivastava
@sava-1729
Hey everyone, I've updated my proposal, a lot of implementation and theory details were missing earlier
Could you all please give me some feedback?
Vatsal Srivastava
@sava-1729
@sylee @oscarbenjamin since you both were involved in the conversation on the PR #18861 it would be really helpful if any of you could review it too.

Hi, Im Harsh Barde. Im a sophomore studying in Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal, India.
I plan to use sympy for basic calculus for a script to estimate the amount of battery required for a Vertical Take off and land UAV as a part of an AI robotics team in my college. I really like the simplicity of the library and I think I probably will become a regular user hence I would like to contribute to sympy for a long time.
I had a doubt regarding the installation. Is it better to install using the anaconda environment even for development?
