    @nickmccurdy
    plus I think it would help coordinate homesick development a little more
    Christian Bundy
    @christianbundy
    absolutely
    to be honest, I'm not a huge fan of the notification model, but I think that using a chat room can be vastly superior to gh issues
    Nick McCurdy
    @nickmccurdy
    you don't like homesick's notifications?
    I'm not against github issues, it's just there's been a lot of long conversations that were important but often got off topic from issues
    Nick McCurdy
    @nickmccurdy
    I added several homesick collaborators, at least the ones on gitter
    Jeremy Cook
    @JCook21
    Seems like an interesting app. I'd be ok with using this.
    Nick McCurdy
    @nickmccurdy
    @JCook21 this could be useful for part of the discussions on rolling new releases
    Nick McCurdy
    @nickmccurdy
    does anyone have opinions on merging #101?
    I believe I just set up GitHub hooks on here, hopefully they'll start showing up soon
    Jeremy Cook
    @JCook21
    @nicolasmccurdy I'd be happy to have a conversation here but only if other contributors take part. I'd hate for this to feel like a 'cabal' to the others.
    I'd be happy to see #101 merged. :)
    Nick McCurdy
    @nickmccurdy
    yeah I agree, do you think I should add a hitter badge to the readme and notify @technicalpickles
    *gitter
    Jeremy Cook
    @JCook21
    Sure, I think that's a good idea.
    Just merged #101. Thanks for reminding me.
    Nick McCurdy
    @nickmccurdy
    so, do you agree that we should roll out a 1.2 release soon?
    I mean 1.1
    Jeremy Cook
    @JCook21
    I agree that we need a release. Do you think we have enough to call it 1.1 or is it 1.01?
    I guess the .01 release would indicate a bug fix and we are adding some new functionality so a .1 release is probably more appropriate.
    Nick McCurdy
    @nickmccurdy
    I agree
    if we're going to follow server, then a release that adds minor functionality without back compatibility breakage should be a minor release
    I don't know if we have yet, but it would be awesome if we could reach a consensus on strictly using server for homesick
    *semver
    even though it's not a library, it could still be depended on in a lot of people's shell scripts
    Jeremy Cook
    @JCook21
    Agreed, semver would be a good thing to use.
    I guess that just leaves the question of when we release. How should we gather opinion and consensus as to when we do it?
    Nick McCurdy
    @nickmccurdy
    I guess here if we get enough feedback from other collaborators here that works, otherwise a github issue would work
    Jeremy Cook
    @JCook21
    @nicolasmccurdy I have a fix for issue #112. PR coming up.
    It looks like the issue was introduced in technicalpickles/homesick@e42eff4
    Rafael Epplée
    @raffomania
    hey guys, I've been looking for this for a while but found nothing: is there a recommended way to unlink and then remove a single file from my castle?
    Rafael Epplée
    @raffomania
    For future reference: I just went with unlinking, removing the file and then relinking :)
    Jacky Alciné
    @jalcine
    I've been wishing for said functionality in homesick.
    Jeremy Cook
    @JCook21
    @raffomania @jalcine could one of you create an issue for this on GitHub? This would be a useful feature to have for sure.
    Jacky Alciné
    @jalcine
    There's one for a downstream version of the project: andsens/homeshick#116
    might not be 100% relevant
    Nick McCurdy
    @nickmccurdy
    For some reason this didn't show up in Gitter, so here's the issue for unlinking and removing a single file: #126
    By the way, does anyone know why GitHub issues aren't showing up in Gitter?
    Jacky Alciné
    @jalcine
    might be a missing integration
    Nick McCurdy
    @nickmccurdy
    hm, it seems like I can't add integrations that watch homesick's repo / build status for some reason
    would someone mind tweaking the existing integrations or making new ones for github and travis?
    Kevin Lanni
    @therealklanni
    @technicalpickles would have to do that
    Ricky Han
    @rickyhan
    There should be server for sharing dotfiles especially gtk-themes.
    You can download others' dotfiles with a command
    Joe Nyland
    @JoeNyland
    Any ideas how I can get homesick to reliably track a symlink instead of an actual file?
    Joe Nyland
    @JoeNyland
    ^ Scratch that, it works :smile:
    mroavi
    @mroavi
    How can I install homesick in a server for which I do not have root access?
    mroavi
    @mroavi
    Different question then: Is it possible to install homesick in a server for which I do not have root access?
    Moritz Reiter
    @anothernode
    @mroavi Given that it’s a Ruby gem, I think it should be possible with gem install --user-install homesick. Of course that assumes that Ruby is installed.
