@XtremeGood Questions about usage of TensorFlow are best addressed elsewhere: Stack Overflow, or the discuss@tensorflow.org mailing list.

hi
I can't seem to find the source for this https://www.tensorflow.org/versions/r2.0/api_docs/python/tf/keras/optimizers/Optimizer page in tensorflow/docs
I wanted to submit a pull request for that page
Billy Lamberta
@lamberta
Hi @HarikrishnanBalagopal, check out the API reference section of the docs contributor guide: https://www.tensorflow.org/community/contribute/docs
API reference docs are generated from docstrings in the code (the tensorflow/tensorflow repo)
Alternatively, if you click the top button on the Optimizer page, "VIew source on GitHub", you'll jump over to the right file 😀But ... pull requests should be made against the master branch
HarikrishnanBalagopal
@HarikrishnanBalagopal
https://www.tensorflow.org/tensorboard/r2/tensorboard_profiling_keras#run_a_simple_model_with_tensorboard_callback typo "Following RestNet model code is copied from TensorFlow models garden."
ResNet not "RestNet"
@lamberta I don't want to change the doc string, just want to suggest a change to the example code given below
on the site itself
Billy Lamberta
@lamberta
@HarikrishnanBalagopal There's a GitHub button at the top of that page that will bring you here: https://github.com/tensorflow/tensorboard/blob/master/docs/r2/tensorboard_profiling_keras.ipynb
You can edit that notebook file and send a pull request to the tensorflow/tensorboard repo. Alternatively, you can file an issue with the TensorBoard folks: https://github.com/tensorflow/tensorboard/issues
HarikrishnanBalagopal
@HarikrishnanBalagopal
I created a pull request
Billy Lamberta
@lamberta
@HarikrishnanBalagopal Awesome! Much appreciated
@HarikrishnanBalagopal The github button at teh top of the page links to here: https://github.com/tensorflow/tensorflow/blob/r2.0/tensorflow/python/keras/optimizer_v2/optimizer_v2.py
but that's the r2.0 branch that was cut. you should make your edits on the master branch: https://github.com/tensorflow/tensorflow/blob/master/tensorflow/python/keras/optimizer_v2/optimizer_v2.py#L130
HarikrishnanBalagopal
@HarikrishnanBalagopal
@lamberta so I am missing something or is this example processing the gradients twice? https://github.com/tensorflow/tensorflow/blob/master/tensorflow/python/keras/optimizer_v2/optimizer_v2.py#L142-L146
grads_and_vars = zip(processed_grads, var_list)
and then again
capped_grads_and_vars = [(MyCapper(gv[0]), gv[1]) for gv in grads_and_vars]
HarikrishnanBalagopal
@HarikrishnanBalagopal
@lamberta I created a pull request tensorflow/tensorflow#31452
see if you agree
Billy Lamberta
@lamberta
Awesome, thanks!
HarikrishnanBalagopal
@HarikrishnanBalagopal
anyone have any idea if this is in tensorflow 2? https://github.com/tensorflow/tensorflow/tree/master/tensorflow/contrib/gan
I think they mentioned moving all contrib modules somewhere else
HarikrishnanBalagopal
@HarikrishnanBalagopal
@lamberta is this somewhere in tensorflow/addons? https://www.tensorflow.org/api_docs/python/tf/contrib/gan
The TFGAN API is very useful
would be nice to be able to use it with tensorflow 2
Billy Lamberta
@lamberta
Contrib is gone in TF2 🎉
but you should check with the SIG Addons folks: https://github.com/tensorflow/addons
they also have a gitter chat: https://gitter.im/tensorflow/sig-addons
Sean Morgan
@seanpmorgan
Hi! Yeah TF Addons has been the landing place for much of tf.contrib. TensorFlow GAN has actually moved to its own repo in TF2 as it doesn’t fit nicely into a specific API we support.

@tlkh
How do I ensure an embedded image in the docstring doesn’t exceed the 80 char limit?
Embedded image URL*
Billy Lamberta
@lamberta
@tlkh URLs are excluded from the 80 char limit
where to put the images, that's another question that we should figure out

@xuyongxin2020
hi
HarikrishnanBalagopal
@HarikrishnanBalagopal
hey
searching for tensorflow 2 apis on tensorflow.org doesn't work super well
all the results are for tensorflow 1.14
kinda annoying to have to use the navigation and click through the entire hierarchy to get to a specific thing
HarikrishnanBalagopal
@HarikrishnanBalagopal
also how do you sample random fixed length video patches from a video?
I have a video dataset that I want to use to train a GAN model
Billy Lamberta
@lamberta
site search for TF2 APIs will work better when we switch the site over to TF2-first for the RC release (soon!). And Google search will work, as well
Billy Lamberta
@lamberta
as far as navigating the hierarchy to find tutorials, yes, can be annoying if you are familiar with TensorFlow and already know where you want to go. But, we have a lot of content and multiple audiences, so figuring out where to point a particular user is the challenge (and why there are a number of overview pages).
But good feedback. Maybe we can directly link to the tutorials/guide on the homepage.
RE: video and GANs, we don't have any tutorials for that, yet. Would be a nice, though. Does TFDS have any good video datasets?
HarikrishnanBalagopal
@HarikrishnanBalagopal
@lamberta is there any way to switch which version of the API you are viewing without going back to overview page?
for example in the python docs https://docs.python.org/3/howto/argparse.html
you can switch the version to 2.7 and it still stays on argparse without going back to the index
HarikrishnanBalagopal
@HarikrishnanBalagopal
@lamberta also is there a dedicated tensorflow help channel?
HarikrishnanBalagopal
@HarikrishnanBalagopal
the new @tf.function is very unintuitive, I am getting colocation errors between CPU and GPU 0 when I try to run this code https://bpaste.net/show/qiKt
dataset is a tf.data.Dataset
