Hey!
Finally think I squashed the last bug.
version_code 53 version 1.6.2 code_name Engus
It's live on the play store.
The user is now more or less in control of their own destiny when it comes to permissions and scrobbling.
They do not need to enable anything except the notification is enabled by default.
There are plenty of warnings however.

@a93h Hi, I've just noticed duplicate badges in readme

Or were they added intentionally?
Also, "Releases" badges lead to the same page.

I'm translating missing strings to Russian, and I have one question. Some languages are marked with asterisk, means they are incomplete. If I translate RU tranalstion file COMPLETELY, I should update other translations too (i.e. remove asterisk symbol after "Russian" label). So, if we'll have a lot languages supported, this will be a real issue.
On the other side, translations can become incomplete in case adding new strings. So, on every change we should mark languages as incomplete again.
I don't know if there's a way to detect if a translation is incomplete programmatically. If we can't do that, should we get rid of asterisk suffix?
Also, I suggest to not translate language names. I don't know if this is a rule, but many apps have a list of translations with "native" language names, e.g. "English", but "Русский" etc

Thanks @alexesprit
I will look into this.
I see what you mean with language names.
I will see what to do.
This might be my fault.
I just switched over the to opensky app.
You're my first translator.
I left the Languages translatable because I am a selfish programmer. I did not think of the implications to the end users.
I will change it once you are done with the last few updates.

Hey, just passing props on all the hard work going into Simple Scrobbler :-) I noticed the revived traffic and I'm happy to see things plugging along here
I was at the annual MetaBrainz contributor summit last week and brought up this application and a few others with regards to ListenBrainz client dev community

To be completely honest I feel the app is a sloppy mess atm.
It works but I still really have yet to squash some icky bugs.
There's a reboot bug that seems to take a while or switch between music apps to get the SLS app to notice.

It may seem like a sloppy mess but it works to some degree :)
done an amazing job reviving it and keeping it going - I know several people that use it if that keeps you motivated :))
... and I am sure you see the play store stats too ;) which I am sure is quite signifiant

This following apk should function well.
Not 100% certain it will fix the problem, but it's worth a try.

I am trying to make the ultimate scrobbler with this new repository, everything a developer would need and everything a user could want.
It now uses automated build procedures.

The app nobody ever asked for.
I have absolutely no idea if it's safe yet.
I can post the code if it makes you feel better.
It's one giant main.go program

Oh nice. Reminds me a bit of a project by one of the co-founders of Last.fm that never quite got off the ground: https://github.com/Jonty/scrobbleproxy

Hi guys, I have a question/request: The app works wonders for me, except for one thing: When I press "stop" on my music player, the app sends the song to the cache, even if "Send to cache at 100%" is activated and I have stopped the song after 1 second. Is there any way to change/fix this?
