    I am using a python code to connect via MQTT to my thingsboard server
    the code works with Demo.thingsboard.io
    once I change the server and connect to a device made in my server, it is connecting and in my python code logs shows successful connection and start publishing, however I do not see data in "Latest Telemetry" Section,
    I do not know how to debug, any idea ?

    Performance issue: try to connect "10 thousands device && 3 telemetry resources && 2s interval" to thingsboard, the method validateCredentials in LocalTransportApiService cause performance issue. it cost about 5-10 ms to process the request. will it be fixed?

    The new release of the gateway in Python is not yet available for windows computers. how do i compile the gateway for windows?

    @bhrao_gitlab
    Hi All,
    I have ThingsBoard server running on Ubuntu and just installed the latest python based gateway on another Ubuntu. I got the gateway connected to thingsboard.
    I am simulating some device Applications to send MQTT data to the gateway(as per the mqtt.json configuration). However, I dont see the device data getting reported to the server from the gateway. Is there a configuration that needs to be enabled for the data to be sent to the server.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi, @bhrao_gitlab

    Please write issue on github, with your config and "connector.log". MQTT connector can connect to an external broker, and subscribe to some topics for data collection. Did you check your logs? Logs folder location you can find here.

    Hi, @tachzuka

    You can use the new gateway with docker in Windows. We are going to release a docker image soon.

    Thanks @zbeacon. I had already created a new issue(#2309) on github. I have updated the same with the logs and configurations used. I did check the logs, the gateway subscribes to the device data top mentioned in the mqtt.json config. When I publish data to the topic, the broker publishes it to the gateway but looks like the gateway is not receiving the message as the log file doesnt have any prints there after.

    Hello , can i somehow config tb , or tb-gateway to save only changes in states ?
    oh , sorry i found it
    jdobruchowski
    @jdobruchowski
    it seems it's not working for new tb-gateway on modbus , i have sendDataOnlyOnChange to true and i still get events
    jdobruchowski
    @jdobruchowski
    ah it should be set to True not true -.-

    Hi, @jdobruchowski

    Thank you for feedback, i will fix this in several days.

    @jdobruchowski

    Please try again after upgrading with commands:
    sudo pip3 uninstall thingsboard-gateway -y
    git clone https://github.com/thingsboard/thingsboard-gateway.git
    sudo python3 ./thingsboard-gateway/thingsboard_gateway/setup.py install

    Ilya Barkov
    @zbeacon
    @jdobruchowski Please open issue and upload your config, it looks like some parameter in the config is incorrect, because the gateway cannot load it. (Notate: Change a host and port of your server)
    jdobruchowski
    @jdobruchowski
    @zbeacon it happened after i updated it
    Ilya Barkov
    @zbeacon

    @jdobruchowski Yes, I understand, but unfortunately, I can’t fix the error if I can’t reproduce it.

    And the sendDataOnlyOnChange value in the configuration should be true with a lowercase letter at the beginning, because it is a json format. Maybe this is a problem?

    jdobruchowski
    @jdobruchowski
    @zbeacon yep it was
    @zbeacon i get it now , on old version , I changed sendDataOnlyOnChange to True , it was an error , but your code had it set to default to true , on new version you repaired this parameter , and now i had an error in config
    jdobruchowski
    @jdobruchowski
    while we are at it , can I write my own converter for standard modbus connector ? and can it be defined per device ?
    Ilya Barkov
    @zbeacon
    @jdobruchowski Yes, you can do it, some information you can read here and you should in device configuration add parameter "converter" and class name. Your custom converter class should inherit class "Converter" from thingsboard_gateway.connectors.converter .File with custom converter class should be in an extensions folder, in folder extensions/mqtt already placed custom converter file. Unfortunately, I have not written a manual for this yet.
    jdobruchowski
    @jdobruchowski
    @zbeacon cool i will manage . Is there anything that will prohibit me from publishing to tb more timeseries tags than specified in modbus.json ?
    Ilya Barkov
    @zbeacon
    @jdobruchowski There is no limit for count of timeseries tags. But every tag more will a little bit decrease speed of data processing. If you want, you can add more modbus connectors in a general config file with different configs for connectors. Every connector is a different thread, but you can provide the same name for device and this will increase speed of data processing, of course, if modbus server supports async connections.

    Is it possible for a single device to create multiple alarms?
    I need to be able to create multiple alarms for a single device as it move to different locations and sensor thresholds are exceeded. Now I'm only able to create one alarm, and when the tresholds are exceeded the existing alarm will be updated..

    Why is it so hard to find out how to backup Thingsboard on Linux? I can't imagine people haven't asked for this before.
    Ilya Barkov
    @zbeacon

    Hi, @bhrao_gitlab

    I have answered to your issue. Could you try to follow steps in it and send logs to us? Most important logs are service.log and connector.log .

    jdobruchowski
    @jdobruchowski
    @alphamusk Guess you only need to backup the db and any config file you changed

    I'm having an odd issue with Alarms. I've built a dashboard with multiple states. Default state shows all available Assets and clicking on any Asset goes into asset_details state to display detailed data. I'm trying to display Alarms on both states. On detail state, I'm displaying alarms for that specific Asset - which works as it should. But on the default state I'm trying to display Alarms from all Assets - and for some reason this is not working. No Alarms are shown even though Assets do have active Alarms
    image.png
    This is the Alarms widget on default state. Apartments is a simple Entity Alias that selects all Assets with the type - Apartment
