Gelsey Torres
@torresga
so i am trying to create a three column responsive layout with neat and I am not sure what exactly I am missing. right now i am working on the two column layout. http://codepen.io/anon/pen/MbLPRV what do I need to add to get both columns to match up equally?
Veleous
@mintstack
I have a 2 column layout with the left column being navigation and right page content. I've set the position:fixed; on the left column resulting the in the right column sitting behind the left. To overcome this I've used shit(n), is this acceptable or is there a 'better' solution?
Carl Morlock
@gin93r
Why fixed? Is it 100% height?
To answer your question I don't see why this wouldn't be acceptable. Though if you have a max width like1200 and you scale your browser wider than that you will most likely see a gap.
It really depends on what you're trying to achieve and how you want those two columns to behave.
Veleous
@mintstack
@gin93r Ideally I don't want the left column to scroll with the right columns content
So I set the position as fixed and full height
Carl Morlock
@gin93r
I don't see why it wouldn't be acceptable. As long as your nav spans the same amount of columns as you're shifting the content to avoid gaps when you expand.

Cool, thanks.

Hi, guys I have a problem using bourbon and Codekit
I'm using @import "bourbon"; in my sass/main.scss but it isn't installing files in my compiled css folder

Hello, can someone help me importing bourbon to Angular2?

I'm having trouble using Neat to define mobile-first column widths. I'm currently defining styles for mobile first, then adding a media query for "min-width" (if larger than mobile, do this), and so on up...

If I want an element to be 1/2 on mobile, 1/3 on tablet, and 1/4 on desktop, the use of "omega" at the first breakpoint is still messing up the following breakpoint.

Do I need an omega-override? Do I need to change my breakpoints to be max-width, and therefore start with a desktop first process?

Help!

Nvm!

Code above from @gin93r works!

Hey everyone. This is my first project using bourbon/neat: https://privateyoganorthlondon.com/about/ What I like most about bourbon/neat are how uncluttered my views are. I still feel I need to learn a bit more about workflow to become as productive with it as using something like Foundation. Anyway, my question relates to columns / shift. I have an unwanted space between the first and second&third paragraphs on the page linked above and I’m not sure why. Here is the SCSS file for that page: https://github.com/becomexist/tessa-ettinger-yoga/blob/gh-pages/assets/_sass/pages/_about.scss

Can anyone help explain why?

Hey all
Gus P
@staycreativedesign
this is a bit silly but I'm used to the older version of neat
in the new version how do i set a max width?
basically i want to have a container thats max 1400px
nevermind
:P
Ricco
@riccoski
is this out of beta? a long with bourbon 5?
anujakhatal
@anujakhatal
Hi @becomexist in your main.css you have the following -
.about-columns::after {
clear: both;
content: "";
display: block;
}
remove the display settings and you should be fine
Gus P
@staycreativedesign
Ok guys I have a question again
this is whats happening
@import "neat";

$neat-grid: (
  columns: 12,
  gutter: 20px,
  color: red,

) !default;

.grid {
  @include grid-visual;
}
amd I overriding anything?
it doesnt look like it
I changed my gutter to 40 and nothing changes and the color: red doesnt work as well

Does anyone here use bourbon? I am trying to experiment with Neat and I was following a guide saying to use +outer-container, but that doesn't exist anymore. It seems they completely redone neat. (The vid is from 2014.. so makes since) but I was looking through the docs. I use sass, and its in scss. No matter what I try it will not work
Jake McClure
@jakemcclure
@staycreativedesign try +grid-container and then add max-width: 87.5em to the element
@Joshbeyer yeah, it seems like updated version of Neat uses grid-container to accomplish the former way of outer-container
Gus P
@staycreativedesign
@Joshbeyer yes version 2.0 remove a lot of things, it takes a bit getting used to but... its doable
The tutorials are outdated
just play with the examples thats what I did
Josh Beyer
@Joshbeyer
I was trying the examples, i can't get them to work with sass, only scss.

Anyone feel like taking a look at my code to see why my div is going under the one after it.. I tried clearfix, and several other things but can't figure it out. I know its a simple mistake, I just can't figure out what.

What versions is that?
Josh Beyer
@Joshbeyer
idk, i was just following a tutorial from devtips on youtube how to use bourbon. I can use +clearfix. But neat is what will not work for me what so ever. And thats a bummer cause i like it the most
i can't understand how to do something simple like in skeleton, i type a few div's .container > .row > .sixcolumns and i will have a centered div dix columns wide but its ugly and i hate it. I want to learn to use neat

I have a question i regards to taking skiracing.com and making it a mobile app. Anyone up to the challenge?
sorry, not mobile app, mobile friendly...
Currently we are using bourbon.neat and use bitbucket with git.
I'm a lucky developer ahead of his talents.
