Hi. First of all, thanks a lot for your work on that awesome tool, it makes my life better. The only feature I desperately miss right now is to be able to add and prioritize an item as a single (and preferably simple) command. Ideally I want to have commands like
aa (add and prioritize as A), ab (add and prioritize as B), ac, etc. Is that possible?

@dimonomid Sounds like you need to start looking at addons have a look here https://github.com/todotxt/todo.txt-cli/wiki/Todo.sh-Add-on-Directory#add-and-do--add-and-pri-in-one-step for Ginas adda to add with priority (A). Also sounds like you are being tripped up by bash and (A), just quote the item including the priority

@maco1717 if you add export TODOTXT_DATE_ON_ADD=1 to your todo.cfg file it will add date at start of todo item. I think when you run todo.sh do $item_number it puts in the date "done" in the done.txt file already. So you have "x 2020-01-27 2020-01-26 test item" showing 26th when I created and 27th when I completed the item I labelled as test item

archive slightly so it respects TODOTXT_PRESERVE_LINE_NUMBERS where possible. I'm wondering if it's worth it to open an issue and PR, or if it would be better to instead just use my own fork of the script? Thanks.
Hello @jeresch, yes, it's been a bit quiet around todo.txt-cli, as it's a quite stable app. I haven't heard much from @karbassi, but he's still active in GitHub. I try to answer any issues and pull requests that show up.

archive, incompatible changes are unlikely to be accepted. But you can easily overload any default behavior with a custom add-on, so why don't you try that out, potentially share that add-on, and if a lot of users like that, it may finally be included in the main app. I wonder though that the todo.txt file would grow all the time if archiving doesn't strip empty lines, doesn't it?
Yes, I think it would grow. That makes sense, thanks. I think I'll implement it with just an extra colon key/value tag and an overloaded
add, addm, and addto to add the tag automatically. I really just need a unique key/identifier for each task item to implement blockers and dependencies. I was hoping that could be the line number, but it's probably easier with just a new piece of slightly redundant metadata.
