@/all im thinking to add an auto-stale bot on translate/pootle translate/pootle#6844
@comradekingu if you are triaging bugs and think they are simple or urgent, can you add to the 2.9 milestone
Allan Nordhøy
@comradekingu
OK, i did "blocking" to one that i thought should be in
Can i add a "Pootle" org on Liberapay, it fixes one of the issues
Someone requested crowd sourced dev funding
phlax
@phlax
yep - we will need an account or something for it tho
i guess
ah, not it seems

Hello everyone, I'd like to know if I can add a new format to the tool, to support XWiki's translation file format. It's basically just some XML files.
phlax
@phlax
hey @atallahade format support is in translate toolkit https://github.com/translate/translate
@unho is the best person to ask about adding new formats - im sure he'll be around at some point
Adel Atallah
@atallahade
Ok thanks

@phlax
hi @/all - i wanted to canvas thoughts on moving translate/translate and translate/pootle to gitlab
my 2p is that github has been great, but that has always had a risk of becoming over-centralized etc, and that the microsoft acquisition exacerbates those fears
Allan Nordhøy
@comradekingu
Agreed
phlax
@phlax
@nijel @unho any thoughts on ^^ ?
Leandro Regueiro
@unho
@phlax I don't have any opinion on the issue, besides that it might confuse users unless we keep some link pointing to the new place. Also I don't know anything about gitlab.
phlax
@phlax
yep and yep
i tried getting gitlab.com/translate but it was gone 8(
Leandro Regueiro
@unho
:(
phlax
@phlax
i managed to get a few others - probs the best i found was gitlab.com/translate.apps/...
phlax
@phlax
@unho im wondering if we can keep github as a mirror, disable tickets/wiki etc on github and put a notice to preferably make PRs on gitlab
there is a bunch of CI to figure out too
Leandro Regueiro
@unho
I like the mirror idea.
phlax
@phlax
yep
Allan Nordhøy
@comradekingu
Sounds nice

Moving from one proprietary environment to another doesn't really seem to offer much. It doesn't really matter who owns github does it?
Michal Čihař
@nijel
I don't really see much benefits from moving from GitHub to GitLab - it's still third party commercial service which can be gone or changing TOS at any point. There is nothing wrong on GitHub right now and moving things around will IMHO just confuse users who will be still looking in the old location.
But if you feel it's good thing to do, feel free to go ahead
Allan Nordhøy
@comradekingu
@nijel It does have a C, whereas GitHub has an F https://www.gnu.org/software/repo-criteria-evaluation.en.html
Michal Čihař
@nijel
Yes, GitLab is slightly more free, but for me that doesn't justify hassle with migration
Also this is certainly outdated (last update in 2016, eg. B2 IMHO no longer applies to GitHub) and a bit confusing (there is no grade between C and F, even it sounds like GitHub is way worse)

It has been updated since then, though I don't know in what capacity relating to the above

Hi! I got hit by this bug: translate/pootle#4762 and I would like to fix it (or at least try to workaround it somehow on my Pootle instance). I tried to find the place where XLIFF file are serialised (when running with fs sync), but I can't seem to find any XLIFF specific code in Pootle project. Can someone give me a hint, where I should start ?

Hi! Chatting to a developer about the i18n process today and suggested that for error messages from his program, he ensure that there is an untranslated error code so that there is still some hope of asking google for assistance with an error. (e.g. "Could not reach server [E123]"). He was receptive to the idea but wanted to know if I could point to some documentation on best practices. Any thoughts?
(Directly to me or to http://bugs.debian.org/904883 or mailto:904883@bugs.debian.org is fine)

@waddlesplash
hi, has anyone looked into the expired certificate at https://amagama-live.translatehouse.org/ yet?
Allan Nordhøy
@comradekingu
I imagine @dwaynebailey is in charge of that

Trying to work out whether to also package backports.csv now for Debian or just disable that in the py2 module.
(Quite a lot of changes for a microrelease)
Leandro Regueiro
@unho
@llimeht Didn't actually thought about that. Sorry.
Stuart Prescott
@llimeht
I've packaged it and uploaded backports.csv; it'll take a while before it gets manually processed though
Leandro Regueiro
@unho
Thanks a lot!
