I even tried temporarily turning my 2.4 GHZ Wi-Fi into an open network, with broadcasting, no password, no MAC filtering. Other devices successfully connected to it. The Raspberry Pi's red and green lights are solid (not flashing). Still no internet. At this rate, I might just try connecting it directly to my router via ethernet. Is this okay?
Am I supposed to configure anything in the Pi's GUI? What else should I try? I'm about to lose my mind. xD
I think this step might be gravely outdated. I was somehow able to pull from NextCloud using commands from ssh despite (1) All devices, mobile or PC, connecting to 'treehouses' and saying there's no internet, and (2) failing to connect to any website or ping any site by name or IP address even though the steps say to check for internet connectivity when you connect to the 'treehouses' Wi-Fi.
I just tried brute forcing the instructions and ignored any failed steps (like making sure the 'treehouses' Wi-Fi has internet connectivity, which it does not, but the Pi itself seems to have connectivity due to the Nextcloud pull working.)
I'm not sure how far I can make it, but I'm just gonna keep at this brute force approach until I fail. xD
It's late. I'm tired. I'll submit a GitHub issue with detailed steps for my workaround this weekend. :sleeping:

treehouses network on the Available Networks, it means your firewall is blocking(unlikely), your PC has some device issue( try switching to another computer or phone and see if treehouses pops up) or your router is having issues(unlikely but connect your PC to the router and ssh to your pi).

So I figured out why I couldn't SSH as root to my pi on treehouses/treehouses.github.io#809 :
- I didn't add my SSH key to my pi.
- Glossed over the
known_hostfix when switching images on my pi.
Also kudos to the person who came up with adding ranger to treehouses.

I wanted to keep the proposed solution's text, but format it so that the steps are in an ordered list for readability.
@JLKwong I don't think there is a consensus on how far you are allowed to deviate unless outlined by the organization. Anytime I make any additional changes from what is asked, I try to be explicit of these new changes in the PR's description. My pull request treehouses/treehouses.github.io#805 is an example in which I deviated a bit from the issue but was upfront on the additional changes inside of the description.
