@dogi I'm working with an action group that's protecting old growth forest from being logged. I'm trying to make a system that helps everyone stay coordinated, starting with a baserow database and a landing page
Gonna need to keep the whole system running on solar, ideally

@dogi
when I am doing outdoor stuff that is the killer feature
Zenen
@ZenenTreadwell
was wondering if it would be worth moving away from vanilla raspbian
but this project is at least somewhat oriented around bringing this tech outside, yea?
dogi
@dogi
we have our own specialized image called treehouses -> https://download.treehouses.io
... based on raspios (raspbian)

@ZenenTreadwell
cool. so this would be a superset with a few added tools

somewhat yea ... mostly we go to very rural and remote placed ... where internet and even electrical power is no so stable (e.g. only solar)

anyhow privately I have helped out also with precise farming projects
so very outdoorsy

Okay, I'm working full-time but I'm going to put in a reminder and see if I can pop my head in for a quick discussion
Initial thoughts: do you have any way of monitoring power supply? I'm planning on running off of solar batteries but it would be useful to have some kind of alert that a node is running low so that we can attend to it

you can also pop in later ... we will be there 5-6 hours

I did some experiments but recently there came out newer hardware

also the things I used are not available anymore
