@emilypi that crashes the compiler?

Hello guys, I'm looking for Scala applications that make an intensive use of implicits and macros.

You mean other than shapeless?

No, I'm interested in anything that is widely used, hence shapeless is a good candidate.
But I need an application rather than a library.
It's for profiling implicit search and macro expansions. I've already done so with some projects and got some results, but I think there's more to scratch in the Scala typelevel world.
For example, an application using generic derivation (via circe, for example) would be a good candidate.

The venue will accommodate ~100 participants
In that sense it's limited, yes

@LukaJCB yeah, it’s pretty hilarious tbh. looked like a simple fix though
Thankfully, we have the pleasure of working with it until 2.13 :)

@jvican our work project https://github.com/gemini-hlsw/gem does some shapeless stuff in a dumb way and is pretty slow. If you check that out and do sql/compile it takes 86 sec to compile 15 source files on my machine.
that was unexpectedly large

I need to try to optimize it but the turnaround is so slow I can't get motivated.

Any thoughts on a Typelevel summit or presence around ICFP/Strange Loop in St Louis later this year?

@tpolecat low hanging fruit - is it using an implicit val in the companion objects or is each call site re-deriving the instances?

@tpolecat Thank you, Rob. Will have a look.
