    @rberenguel
    oh, the 21st I'm back in Spain (but that means I may catch the spacemacs thingy, what it is @jr0cket ?)
    John Stevenson
    @jr0cket
    @rberenguel the spacemacs thingy? Its a workshop that will show you how to use spacemacs for Clojure development. So I dont cover Scala, but you could replace the Clojure bits with Ensime.
    Ruben Berenguel
    @rberenguel
    ah sounds nice, I was in a spacemacs for clojure emacs meetup a few months ago, too (but not much knowledge about clojure, common lisp used to be more my thing)
    John Stevenson
    @jr0cket
    @rberenguel I couldnt do the previous weekend for HackTheTower as there are no trains running that Saturday where I live. Hope you enjoy Spain.
    @rberenguel if it was the church of emacs in August 2016 then that was me… I was just starting... The workshop this month will be much more complete
    Ruben Berenguel
    @rberenguel
    oh, right it was you then :) Actually I installed spacemacs that same day (wanted to clean my .emacs and it was a good way to) will try to be there, always nice to see cool things to do with emacs

    I've added some paramorphism examples, as well as a mergeSort. This is looking really promising, so I'll probably write it up in a proper tutorial.

    Hi
    John Stevenson
    @jr0cket
    I'm afraid I wont be running a HackTheTower event in July or August unless I can find an alternative venue and host. If anyone is interested in hosting the event I am happy to help you run it. Thank you
    Daniela Sfregola
    @DanielaSfregola
    FYI, just started asking around to see if we can find a new venue for HackTheTower -- I'll keep you in the loop!

    Well now that we're in September hopefully we can go back to Salesforce..
    Either way :+1: on more tower hacking
    Daniela Sfregola
    @DanielaSfregola
    if Salesforce is still willing to host us that would be great! I thought that was no longer the case...?
    Dale Wijnand
    @dwijnand
    As I understood it there were office improvements planned for every weekend of July and August.
    Daniela Sfregola
    @DanielaSfregola
    awesome, thanks for clarifying @dwijnand ! I was told differently
    Dale Wijnand
    @dwijnand
    I might've just as easly missunderstood. Hopefully @jr0cket can clarify.
    John Stevenson
    @jr0cket
    @dwijnand @DanielaSfregola sorry, HackTheTower at the Salesforce tower is no more. As yet I have not found an alternative venue or someone to provide food
    Dale Wijnand
    @dwijnand
    :(
    Daniela Sfregola
    @DanielaSfregola
    @jr0cket thanks for clarifying! I'll ask around, hopefully it shouldn't take too long to find a new host/sponsor

    @jr0cket
    Hello developers, I am working on running another HackTheTower event for the 9th December. Is this a good date, does it class or complement any other events you would attend?
    Miles Sabin
    @milessabin
    @jr0cket is this at a new venue?
    John Stevenson
    @jr0cket
    Yes, this will be at a new venue, near Moorgate in the city, so not far from previous location.
    Dale Wijnand
    @dwijnand
    Shame, I'm out of town that day.
    John Stevenson
    @jr0cket
    Unfortunately the venue for December fell through and I was not able to organise an event. I will be searching around for more options over the December holidays and hopefully start planning events from February onwards.
    Dale Wijnand
    @dwijnand
    :+1: :tada:

    I'm having a casual hack evening this coming Monday to work on functional open source projects. It's not quite the same as Hack the Tower, but there'll be nibbles and coding. Come along if you can https://www.eventbrite.com/e/functional-open-source-hacking-tickets-44792383224
