    hi, my uport app network is showing "mainnet". I want to try out an ethereum transaction on rinkeby. Once the transaction signing is sent to uport app, the balance is shown to be zero and I am not able to send the transaction. Is there a way to switch my uport app to rinkeby ?
    hsnhrn
    @hsnhrn
    add your provider as rinkeby
    vahidhawedssauban
    @vahidhawedssauban
    how to do it in app ?
    hsnhrn
    @hsnhrn
    so you are just using app?
    vahidhawedssauban
    @vahidhawedssauban
    yes
    hsnhrn
    @hsnhrn
    ah sorry then. I thought you were talking about the code
    vahidhawedssauban
    @vahidhawedssauban
    i am referring to the developer example which basically send 0.1 eth as transaction
    previously in profiles, i could see rinkeby account
    I get you, but my problem is with the app
    vahidhawedssauban
    @vahidhawedssauban
    When i tried out the example, the app automatically created a rinkeby account and now its fine

    I tried getting ether for testnet rinkeby through rinkeby.io faucet. i posted a tweet and copied tweet's URL but somehow it keeps giving me the error that the provided URL is not valid. What are the other alternative ways to get test ethers?

    I have a custom smart contract on Ropsten testnet. I want to execute a function in that smart contract with uPort wrapped with Web3 but i am unable to do the configuration. I have followed the tutorial and documentation of uPort transaction signing with Web3 but still i am unable to do it. does anyone has an example or tutorial for this? any help would be great.

    Not sure how many people are still active in here, but if you're building on Ethereum, I'd love to better understand your pain points. This survey is just 2 min to take. I hope you'll respond: https://simplysecure.typeform.com/to/VyiuQI

    can anyone provide an example of calling a custom smart contract function using uPort credentials?. smart contract is deployed on Ropsten testnet and i am trying to execute a function inside it using uport Credentials.

    @Taimoor10

    I have a solidity function enterEther to send ether to the smart contract like this

    function enterEther() public payable {
            Receive(msg.value);
            balance += msg.value;
    }

    and i want uPort to call that function. This is my transaction Object. I am using uport-connect library

    const txRequest = mycontract.enterEther({
            notifications: true,
            accountType: "keypair",
            networkId: '0x3',
            callbackUrl: 'https://uport-connect-demo.herokuapp.com/txcallback',
            from: '0x447ea080ad0bc5c14fe82ae4a2581cb8e9de72ea',
            value: '0x0111111111111111'  })

    However when i specify the from field. i don't receive the notification in uPort app to sign this transaction and when i don't specify the from field, i receive the notification but there is no account to send transaction from. help would be very much appreciated.

    Does UPort have any capability to create claims/credentials about things that are not Ethereum addresses?
    Muhammad Taimoor
    @Taimoor10
    Is there a way to send transaction directly from the account to another account without involving the smart contract using Uport?. I am using Uport Credentials library to sign transactions but they all involve smart contract to transfer ether.

    Hi
    have one little question about the mainnet
    uPort is using.
    I heard that uport is migrating all identities to Ethereum mainnet.
    Previous to this change, were those identities uploaded on uport's very own mainnet?
    Muhammad Taimoor
    @Taimoor10
    @Rachel5514Cho_twitter This is an old article explaining how uport digital identity infrastructure is helping before uportDIDs were migrated to Ethr-DIDs https://medium.com/uport/zug-id-exploring-the-first-publicly-verified-blockchain-identity-38bd0ee3702.

    @Taimoor10
    @HABIMANAROGER6_twitter You can specify the network by providing the network_id. this is explained in a portion of this article https://medium.com/uport/uport-on-any-ethereum-blockchain-c54368a12e8c

    Is the https://appmanager.uport.me/ working? I cannot see my apps. It just shows me a message "Searching for your apps…
    Reading the public blockchain. This may take a moment." and never comes back.
    I have tried clearing the caches, using Incognito mode. Although the application is running fine but app manager doesn't show my apps.

    https://uportlandia.uport.me/ is doing a good job at demoing SSI based auth and data sharing.
    I've studied the source code behind it a bit, but still couldn't find an answer to this question: is there any standard which specifies the data formats and protocols used? E.g. in order to request "date of birth", what's the machine readable name of that attribute and what does the request need to look like? There's https://github.com/uport-project/uportlandia/blob/develop/src/constants/config.js, but it doesn't mention if the exact data structures used there are "self invented" or implementing some (draft) standard.
    I found https://www.iana.org/assignments/jwt/jwt.xhtml, but that seems not to be what's used
    Didi
    @d10r
    Also, I'm aware of attempts to create a standard for "did auth". Is uPort involved in that standardization? Is there any draft standard which uPort is implementing or about to implement?
