    motez Does anyone know how to deal with a "Error: Unsupported DID method: 'ethr'" issue when trying to do a simple disclosure request on the client?

    christophermaree Hey there! We're using uport as a part of a project we're working on and use attestations to uniquely verify and identify individuals. At the moment, we generate the attestations client side(within the Dapp). What is the recommended way to verify the provenance of this uport Verification? I.e to check that the verification did indeed come from us and was not faked? We've been looking at the uport-credentials documentation and examples for running a javascript server side implementation using JWT's but the issue is that our current architecture is written in Python using a Flask API. How can we then verify an attestation generated and stored on the users phone is indeed valid using our current Python API?

    One thing we’ve been thinking about is to use https://github.com/uport-project/did-jwt to generate the JWT’s then verify them within our Python API, against the server running did-jwt. Alternatively, we would need to fundamentally change how we perform attestations and user login if we move across to running with uport-credentials and keep everything server side but this would require us to move away from using python.

    ramanacv How does the create2 feature in constantinople play with uport ? The fundamental value prop of uport was that it created an ID from a wallet address. Create2 helps create even a contract address with no cost (at the time of creation) .

    ramanacv Does it chainge anythng about eth_registry contract ? If not, is there a +ve compatibiility that can be leveraged by uport using create2 - https://medium.com/coinmonks/user-on-boarding-and-create2-a67a185fd149

    Hi all, can someone help me with this issue which I am getting uport-project/uport-connect#259

    Is this Gitter account still being monitored? Trying to understand the connectState item that gets stored in localStorage. How is this being created? Is it when this is triggered:

    const uport = new Connect("AppName", {
      network: "mainnet"
    });

    If so, is the keyPair that's generate global and not specific to each user?

    Hey everyone. I'm getting started using uport in my project and am unsure how claims are accessed after they're created. This tutorial from uport's site shows that a claim is created using the createVerification function: https://developer.uport.me/credentials/createverification. Is this claim created in the Ethereum Claims Registry contract seen here: https://github.com/uport-project/ethereum-claims-registry? If not, how can I get claims? Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

    Hey everyone, I'm using uport-connect 0.7.3. Can anyone show me an example of how to send ether and data in a transaction to my smart contract's function? I can get this to work with normal web3 http provider, but when I try and use the web3 provider from Connect I'm getting an error about gas limits. I simply want to call my placeOrder function, passing in 3 parameters and also send some eth with the transaction as well.
    Gareth Oates
    @GarethOates
    Fixed that error
    Now it’s going wild when telling it the value of eth I want to send. I’m saying 3 but it’s trying to make a transaction for way more than that.

    @GarethOates
    Value was 1000 times bigger than it should be for some reason. Need to investigate further, probably something to do with my maths.

    Hi guys! I work with theblockchaininstitute.org and we want to help you get this wordpress plugin launched :)
    We've been working on a php library to help validate JWT signatures, but we're kind of stuck on one thing. Does anyone have any tips on retrieving DID public keys with the MNID that's contained in the JWT?

    hey guys,
    i am trying to use uport for signing transactions as an alternative to metamask.
    i am following the uport connect guide https://developer.uport.me/uport-connect/guides/usage
    now here is my code, which is very similar to the code written in the connect guide
    const factory = connect.contract(JSON.parse(config.abi.factoryABI)).at(config.contractAddresses.voterFactoryAddress);
    const reqid = 'createPoll';
    console.log(factory);
    factory.createPoll('Question 2?', reqid);
            connect.onResponse(reqid).then(req => {
                console.log(req);
            })
    when i scan this qr code, the next button says approve transaction and the account that is being used has 0 balance (i have already added funds to every possible public key i found in my uport app)
    Nikhil
    @nikhil3000
    after i tap on approve transaction the next screen is as shown in the screenshot

    now i don't know if that http provider message means something
    but i am stuck here...someone please help

    hi, my uport app network is showing "mainnet". I want to try out an ethereum transaction on rinkeby. Once the transaction signing is sent to uport app, the balance is shown to be zero and I am not able to send the transaction. Is there a way to switch my uport app to rinkeby ?
    hsnhrn
    @hsnhrn
    add your provider as rinkeby
    vahidhawedssauban
    @vahidhawedssauban
    how to do it in app ?
    hsnhrn
    @hsnhrn
    so you are just using app?
    vahidhawedssauban
    @vahidhawedssauban
    yes
    hsnhrn
    @hsnhrn
    ah sorry then. I thought you were talking about the code
    vahidhawedssauban
    @vahidhawedssauban
    i am referring to the developer example which basically send 0.1 eth as transaction
    previously in profiles, i could see rinkeby account
    I get you, but my problem is with the app
    vahidhawedssauban
    @vahidhawedssauban
    When i tried out the example, the app automatically created a rinkeby account and now its fine

    I tried getting ether for testnet rinkeby through rinkeby.io faucet. i posted a tweet and copied tweet's URL but somehow it keeps giving me the error that the provided URL is not valid. What are the other alternative ways to get test ethers?

    I have a custom smart contract on Ropsten testnet. I want to execute a function in that smart contract with uPort wrapped with Web3 but i am unable to do the configuration. I have followed the tutorial and documentation of uPort transaction signing with Web3 but still i am unable to do it. does anyone has an example or tutorial for this? any help would be great.

    Not sure how many people are still active in here, but if you're building on Ethereum, I'd love to better understand your pain points. This survey is just 2 min to take. I hope you'll respond: https://simplysecure.typeform.com/to/VyiuQI

    can anyone provide an example of calling a custom smart contract function using uPort credentials?. smart contract is deployed on Ropsten testnet and i am trying to execute a function inside it using uport Credentials.
