[Robbie Mackay, Ushahidi] I really hate PHPUnit.. stuck in a world of weird obscure errors, instead of just getting shit done. everytime

[Neil Horning] Thanks for the invite angela?
[Neil Horning] Couple of things I was going on about in skype...
[Neil Horning] First of all, I saw NM is the must active deployment on the CrisisNet platform you posted last month. Neat.
[Neil Horning] Was looking if anyone knows off hand how to allow a script to be accessed in a subdirectory for a 2.x deployment.
[Neil Horning] Someone gave us a php script that adds hashtags to our feed so we can tweet it with IFTTT.
[Neil Horning] We wan't to install it on our own host in a f
[Neil Horning] older
[Neil Horning] Also, Was wondering if the v3 deployment is up for Pakistan yet, and if there is a link to it.

[Angela Oduor Lungati, Ushahidi] Thanks Neil ;)... Pinging @LindaKamau @Robbie or @Jason - any chance you guys could help @NeilHorningGuest out?
[Angela Oduor Lungati, Ushahidi] Also, re: v3 deployment for Pakistan - Zanab is still in the development stages of setting up her deployment - from the email she sent through yesterday
[Angela Oduor Lungati, Ushahidi] I haven't seen any other just yet

[Neil Horning] Ok, from the news it looks like the casualties are relatively minor, and the government is refusing international aid, so the information needs may be very differnt.

[Jason Mule, Ushahidi] hi @Neil, @LindaKamau possibly add this as a plugin?
[Neil Horning] you mean the php script?
[Neil Horning] might be cool as an official plugin, but it already functions on it's own server
[Neil Horning] http://45.55.41.12:8001/

[Jason Mule, Ushahidi] ok, saw you want to pull in feeds from http://45.55.41.12:8001/
[Neil Horning] No
[Neil Horning] The script is running there.
[Neil Horning] That's the test host
[Jason Mule, Ushahidi] the link prompts me to download a feed?
[Neil Horning] We want to put it on our host.
[Neil Horning] that is correct functionality
[Neil Horning] or at least good enough.
[Jason Mule, Ushahidi] how would this script interact with your Ushahidi deployment?
[Neil Horning] We paid KLL to make the script, but hosting was not part of the contract.
[Neil Horning] It would not interact directly with it
[Neil Horning] It pulls from the feed at nepalmonitor.org/feed and adds hashtags on to it.
[Neil Horning] Then we use IFTTT to tweet that feed.

[Jason Mule, Ushahidi] so just need it hosted on your server?
[Neil Horning] That is all
[Neil Horning] but if we put in a folder we get an error
[Neil Horning] I thought it would be something simple like .htaccess, but neither himilayan techies, nor KLL knew what to do.
[Neil Horning] the end product of all this is currently functioning on twitter https://twitter.com/Nepal_Monitor

[Link]

<p><b><a href="[https://twitter.com/nepal_monitor](https://twitter.com/nepal_monitor)">NepalMonitor.org (@Nepal_Monitor) | Twitter</a></b></p>

<p>The latest Tweets from NepalMonitor.org (@Nepal_Monitor). http://t.co/Ts29YakQIN is an initiative to assist in more effectively monitoring and coordinating around the #Nepal #HumanRights and #security situation. Kathmandu</p>

[Neil Horning] However, that's just using the test host.

[Jason Mule, Ushahidi] You should host this separately from your Ushahidi deployment assuming that www.nepalmonitor.org points to that?

[Link]

<p><b><a href="[https://www.nepalmonitor.org/](https://www.nepalmonitor.org/)">Nepal Monitor</a></b></p>

<p>Welcome to Nepal Monitor.</p>

[Neil Horning] points to it?
[Jason Mule, Ushahidi] nepalmonitor.org hosts your Ushahidi deployment?

[Link]

<p><b><a href="[https://www.nepalmonitor.org/](https://www.nepalmonitor.org/)">Nepal Monitor</a></b></p>

<p>Welcome to Nepal Monitor.</p>

[Neil Horning] yes
[Neil Horning] We didn't have any trouble with a blog in a subfolder www.nepalmonitor.org/blog
[Neil Horning] ehem: https://www.nepalmonitor.org/blog/

[Link]

<p><b><a href="[https://www.nepalmonitor.org/blog/](https://www.nepalmonitor.org/blog/)">Nepal Monitor Blog | Human Rights. Security. Nepal.</a></b></p>

<p>Human Rights. Security. Nepal.</p>

[Neil Horning] So we just want to put this script: https://github.com/KathmanduLivingLabs/nepalmonitor-rss-twitter-tagger

[Link]

<p><b><a href="[https://github.com/KathmanduLivingLabs/nepalmonitor-rss-twitter-tagger](https://github.com/KathmanduLivingLabs/nepalmonitor-rss-twitter-tagger)">KathmanduLivingLabs/nepalmonitor-rss-twitter-tagger</a></b></p>

[Neil Horning] in a subfolder.
[Neil Horning] ya digg?

[Jason Mule, Ushahidi] Right. So there must be a web server config that makes the blog work?
[Neil Horning] Yes, but himalayan techies installed the blog, and they didn't know what that config was.
[Neil Horning] I thought it would be something in the .htaccess file.
[Neil Horning] But we couldn't find anything.
[Neil Horning] that's why I'm here.
[Neil Horning] I do infact, want to use the samething that makes the blog work, make this script work.
[Neil Horning] I don't have a tight timeline on this, since it already works, but if you guys happen to know, that means we don't have to ask the guy at KLL to figure this out with his own resources, because he is on some tight deadlines doing a massive post dissaster damage assessment for the Nepal Government.

[Jason Mule, Ushahidi] ok. But unless I am missing something, I think the solution to this would be to look at your web server configs to see what works for the blog.
[Neil Horning] like in cpanel?
[Neil Horning] php configuration?
[Jason Mule, Ushahidi] Apache configs
Ushbot
@ushbot
Oct 29 2015 10:36
[Neil Horning] I guess that would mean I have to write to our host, we only have cpanel and ftp access.
[Jason Mule, Ushahidi] Then, is there anything on cpanel that would make this work?
[Neil Horning] I'm looking, but most of the stuff I see generates it's own error
[Neil Horning] and it very much looks like ushahidi generates this error
[Neil Horning] like it has it's own 404

[Jason Mule, Ushahidi] because you shouldn't be able to drop in a folder like that and it works...
[Neil Horning] shouldn't?
[Jason Mule, Ushahidi] yup
[Neil Horning] and do you know what usually stops that from happening?
[Jason Mule, Ushahidi] for starters, there wouldn't be a route to serve info from that directory
[Jason Mule, Ushahidi] you would have to add it.
[Jason Mule, Ushahidi] do you know if your team looked into this?
[Neil Horning] lets say they didn't.
Ushbot
@ushbot
Oct 29 2015 10:53
[Jason Mule, Ushahidi] actually, let's hope no one added a route there to make the blog work :-)
[Jason Mule, Ushahidi] do you have anything on cpanel related to the blog?
[Neil Horning] didn't see anything, I'll look a little longer..

[Linda Kamau, Ushahidi] just getting to this now but as @Jason says, this is definitely a config issue. The sub folder needs to be mapped to the domain
[Linda Kamau, Ushahidi] for the two to "handshake" - a defined route or path
[Neil Horning] and that's not set in ushahidi/application/config/routes.php is it?
[Linda Kamau, Ushahidi] nope
[Linda Kamau, Ushahidi] server side

[Neil Horning] That's neat.
[Neil Horning] Filtered by sub 500 and up came Kathmandu.
[Neil Horning] I think is actually the cheapest on that list.
