[Wing Ho] I have question on installation in linux, can someone help?
[David Losada, Ushahidi] Hello Wing Ho, what is your question?

[Wing Ho] when i open the site, it said "sorry, something went wrong. try reloading the page

[Wing Ho] I went to the log and got an error "file does not exist: /var/www/html/plateform/httpdocs/api, referer: http://weblib02.fiu.edu/"
[Wing Ho] i'm not sure where it went wrong
[David Losada, Ushahidi] it looks like it's trying to reach the api in the same virtual host where the front-end files were deployed
[David Losada, Ushahidi] did you deploy two virtual hosts?
[Wing Ho] yes, i have the backend is bb.fiu.edu and front end weblib02.fiu.edu
[David Losada, Ushahidi] did you set the BACKEND_URL variable when you were building the front-end?
[Wing Ho] yes, on a .env file on platform-client folder

[David Losada, Ushahidi] ok, and is that log line you pasted coming from the backend server or the front-end server? just trying to establish that that part of the setup is right
[Wing Ho] that's from the backend server
[David Losada, Ushahidi] ok that's good
[David Losada, Ushahidi] then it must be something in the backend server configuration
[Wing Ho] when i open the backend server page, it's display {

[RaghavFTW (guest), irc.freenode.net] Got a question regarding SMSSync. Can anybody help?
[David Losada, Ushahidi] @WingHoGuest I think it's probably something with the URL rewrites , can you check again that part of the instructions?

[Wing Ho] since i have apache, all i need to do was to rename the template.htaccess to .htaccess
[Wing Ho] Do i have to cpy the init.php file to the other folder?
[David Losada, Ushahidi] mm no, don't think so..
[David Losada, Ushahidi] is AllowOverride set to "all" in the virtual host config?
[Wing Ho] no
[David Losada, Ushahidi] I think you would need that
[Wing Ho] to the back end virutal host or front end?
[David Losada, Ushahidi] back end

[RaghavFTW (guest), irc.freenode.net] Hey, David. Can you help regarding SMSSync?
[David Losada, Ushahidi] hello Raghav , I can try :) what is the problem you are having?
[RaghavFTW (guest), irc.freenode.net] Sending the correct JSON as response but message isn't going to publish list.
[RaghavFTW (guest), irc.freenode.net] I'm using an old phone which runs on gingerbread.

[RaghavFTW (guest), irc.freenode.net] Earlier today I reported an issue on GitHub which is being looked.
[David Losada, Ushahidi] do you have the url to that issue?
[RaghavFTW (guest), irc.freenode.net] ushahidi/SMSSync#356 It isn't related to my problem though. I'm using JSON as data format now.

[David Losada, Ushahidi] I see, I'm sorry that I can't really help much right now, SMSSync is not my forte. I think if you can make a capture of the JSON message that gets returned by your service back to SMSSync and paste it in the github issue.. that should help our devs give you better support.
[RaghavFTW (guest), irc.freenode.net] I wanted to ask someone here before creating an issue. I guess I'll wait. Thanks though.
[David Losada, Ushahidi] sorry I couldn't be of more help now. I have the feeling that capturing that JSON message will really help a speedy resolution, though

[RaghavFTW (guest), irc.freenode.net] :q
[RaghavFTW (guest), irc.freenode.net] Its identical to what's stated in documentation.
[David Losada, Ushahidi] like.. the structure of the JSON is identical, or... all the values? you know, sometimes the devil is in the details :)
[RaghavFTW (guest), irc.freenode.net] It contains two string values. The structure is same. I think it must be because I use an older version of Android. Meh.

[David Losada, Ushahidi] yea, it could very well be
[RaghavFTW (guest), irc.freenode.net] {
[RaghavFTW (guest), irc.freenode.net] "payload": {
[RaghavFTW (guest), irc.freenode.net] "error": "Secret key didn't match for LOCALHOST.",
[RaghavFTW (guest), irc.freenode.net] "success": false
[RaghavFTW (guest), irc.freenode.net] }
[RaghavFTW (guest), irc.freenode.net] }
[RaghavFTW (guest), irc.freenode.net] Here it is anyway.

Ushbot

Nov 18 2015 17:41
[RaghavFTW (guest), irc.freenode.net] It's a flask app hosted on Heroku using gunicorn.
[David Losada, Ushahidi] mm I just saw your comment on #356 , looks like you've nailed the problem

[RaghavFTW (guest), irc.freenode.net] Yeah. Sounds like a serious bug.
[David Losada, Ushahidi] thank you very much for finding that, we'll do our best to get back to you with a fix soon
[RaghavFTW (guest), irc.freenode.net] Glad I could help. :)
