Hi there! I've a small question concerning vaadin charts - scatter 3d ...
If my dataset is larger, the chart says no data ... see https://demo.vaadin.com/charts/#Basic3DScatter, do:
private void fillSeries(DataSeries higherX, DataSeries higherY,
DataSeries higherZ) {
Random random = new Random(7);
for (int i = 0; i < 5000; i++) {
double lng = random.nextDouble() 2 Math.PI;
double lat = random.nextDouble() Math.PI - Math.PI / 2;
double x = Math.cos(lat)
Math.sin(lng);
double y = Math.sin(lat);
double z = Math.cos(lng) * Math.cos(lat);
        DataSeriesItem3d point = new DataSeriesItem3d(x, y, z);
        if (x > y && x > z) {
            higherX.add(point);
        } else if (y > x && y > z) {
            higherY.add(point);
        } else {
            higherZ.add(point);
        }
    }

}
5000 points boom, does not work ... any ideas? Tank you!
Guille
@alvarezguille
Hi @MatthiasJakob , I'm not sure what version of Charts you're using, but you should be able to fix that by setting turboThreshold to 0. You can do it for all the series by changing it in PlotOptionsSeries
https://vaadin.com/api/platform/14.0.10/com/vaadin/flow/component/charts/model/PlotOptionsSeries.html#setTurboThreshold-java.lang.Number-

@MatthiasJakob
That was the problem! Thank you Guille so much !!!! Great!

Hi! I’m trying to add a custom theme to Vaadin-rich-text-editor so I’ve created a theme-for module, but it does not get applied. Looking in the Chrome inspector, seems like some styles gets truncated from the <style> tag, but I’m not sure if it’s just as Chrome displays it:

@heruan
How can I debug to see if my theme gets applied?
Leho Kraav
@lkraav
Add a clear id attribute to your theme style tag, so you can clearly search and identify it in the browser Inspector tool
Giovanni Lovato
@heruan
Thank you @lkraav for the suggestion: what’s adding the id to the stlye tag for?
AFAIK the content of the theme module is teleported to the web component style tag, thus losing the id.
Leho Kraav
@lkraav
No, the ID stays
Giovanni Lovato
@heruan
Cool, then! I tried, but I still see the content truncated in the inspector.
Nevermind, I found it.
Leho Kraav
@lkraav
Are you using the new registerStyles() API? You should: https://github.com/vaadin/vaadin-themable-mixin#styling-in-javascript
Giovanni Lovato
@heruan
Found it, and it’s empty :frowning:
I’m not using registerStyles(), I wasn’t aware of that! Let’s look at it right now :smile:
Giovanni Lovato
@heruan
Using registerStyles it works! Thank you @lkraav for pointing me to that as I didn’t know about it. Finally it’s time to ditch all the boilerplate for custom themes in ES6 :smiley:

Hey guys
Can anyone explain me what's wrong with the v14?
java.io.UncheckedIOException: java.nio.file.DirectoryNotEmptyException: C:\Users\SIS017\eclipse-workspace\SQLapp\sqlapp\node_modules\@polymer
Every single time I modify a starter project and run spring-boot:run I get this error
even if I put a space in a view or sth
Denis
@denis-anisimov
@tonydarkOFF_twitter on Windows processes locks files that they uses so that they may not be removed until they are unlocked.
So this exception means you have another process which os locking the file. I may assume that there is another webpack dev server process which for some reason is not stopped. Check that there is no process accessing those files on your machine.
Then running the app should work fine.
If you are not able to find a process which locks the files you may just reboot your system.

with https://github.com/vaadin/vaadin-router if I want to force a link href url to be fetched from server rather than being handled by router, how can this be achieved?
Giovanni Lovato
@heruan
I’m trying vcf-avatar-item in this Glitch: https://glitch.com/edit/#!/low-buckthorn but I can’t get the name initials to show up. What am I doing wrong?
Laurent de Laprade
@ldelaprade
web-components project starter contains package.json and package-lock.json. maven build seems to work without those 2. Since I am reluctant to add generated files in github, I was wondering if those 2 could be omitted. Thanks !
Mark Garrett
@moderndeveloperllc
@sahilshah50 That should like something for the web server. Remember that the browser will go through that first. Make sure that the URL you want to handle separately does not point to or include the entry point where your router is included.
Laurent de Laprade
@ldelaprade
@snirben
Kari Söderholm
@Haprog
@sahilshah50 I haven't use vaadin-router but I took a quick look at the documentation for it. To me it seems like there is no simple built-in way to do it, but I think you can do it in two ways. Either define it as a route and give that route an action method that does a navigation by setting window.location to the target URL. Or alternatively use the Router.setTriggers API and use a customized version of the click trigger (where I think you could do the navigation via window.location based on some attribute being present on the clicked <a> element, or based on href path or some other condition) instead of the default one.
You can check the code of the default link click trigger from here https://github.com/vaadin/vaadin-router/blob/master/src/triggers/click.js actually you'd probably only need to add one more of those simple "ignore" conditions.
Kari Söderholm
@Haprog
@heruan It looks like vcf-avatar-item doesn't import <dom-if> from polymer even though it uses it. I think it should work if you explicitly import dom-if though it's obviously a bug.
Or it would probably work if your page has any other things that happen to import dom-if. :P
I saw you edit the glitch just now. Looks like you encountered another bug related to non-latin alphabet it seems. :D
Giovanni Lovato
@heruan
@Haprog Indeed, I added the import and initials appear! So here comes the real issue: when the name has accented characters, the abbreviation is incorrect.
Yeah :sweat_smile:
Kari Söderholm
@Haprog
@heruan looks like you can override it by setting abbr property explicitly though (as a workaround). I also noticed that if you change name dynamically the abbr isn't automatically updated, it only sets abbr initially when name is set for the first time (if you don't override it yourself).
Kari Söderholm
@Haprog
So you can do <vcf-avatar-item name="Matteo Corà" abbr="MC"></vcf-avatar-item> to make it show "MC". Btw using my full name on it results in "KSÖD" being shown :D

Hi. I'm reading about drag and drop in vaadin-tree-grid. Is it possible to drag and drop from tree to element that isn't grid? In my case I have div which is container for draw2d library. Is there any way to make it work?
Tomi Virkki
@tomivirkki
Hello @g3t0r, The DnD support in grid is built with standard html5 dnd API's so there should be no issues with interoperability between external drop targets. You can add a "drop" event listener to the drop target and access the data the same way as in the "grid-drop" listeners at https://cdn.vaadin.com/vaadin-grid/5.5.0/demo/#grid-drag-and-drop-demos
Jan Jakubowski
@g3t0r
@tomivirkki Okay, thanks a lot for help!

hi all, after a day without problems, today I started trying to include some CSS from the Bootstrap bundle, as stated in this forum post and the missing fields in the login form I mentioned before started happening again
the difference now is that the console tab on Firefox now shows the following error:
Error: Module build failed (from ../node_modules/babel-loader/lib/index.js):
Error: ENOENT: no such file or directory, open '/node_modules/@vaadin/vaadin-lumo-styles/color.js' vaadin-bundle-f9f1cbfa3503dc673d6d.cache.js line 404 > eval:1:7
Rolando Isidoro
@rolandoisidoro
I think my env might be broken somehow. I've tried deleting package* webpack.* node_modules/ and running mvn clean, but creating new builds and deploying end up with the same error
any idea how to debug this issue?
Rolando Isidoro
@rolandoisidoro
is there a way to include badges, as seen in the Lumo theme editor, using JAVA code?

Is there a way to select a listbox item using a key press. For example, you might have a Priority listbox with values "High", "Medium" and "Low" and want to press H to select High, M to select Medium, etc. Is there a way of doing that?

} catch (SQLException e) {
e.printStackTrace();
}
grid.setItems(lde);
Error: items can not be null
