Is there a way to either intercept the "back" specifically before the router gets to it to reset the state of the page....
or is there a way to change the location in such a way that the router won't attempt a component refresh?

Hi all, I'm new here, I have a question about the lumo repository. I saw that the last activity was on 12 April, and the last commit on 10 January, the repo is still active or not? I have opened an issue but I don't know if it will be answered.. vaadin/vaadin-lumo-styles#86 . Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone, It's possible to change the Theme of Loading indicator just in one specific route or class?
Tomi Virkki
@tomivirkki

@knaven0128 You can control the <body> element's class list with:
UI.getCurrent().getElement().getClassList().add("myview1");

and then style the the loading indicator (https://vaadin.com/docs/v14/flow/advanced/tutorial-loading-indicator.html) with something like

.myview1 .v-loading-indicator {
  background-color: red;
}

@moderndeveloperllc
@tomivirkki SHould we expect that the handful of components with a LitElement branch to stay in alpha for a while? They work great FWIW, but are starting to fall behind the Polymer versions in features and bug fixes.

@sriharrsha
Hi Everyone, How do I hook up React Plugin into Vaadin Java. I am trying to integrate https://github.com/plaid/react-plaid-link into one VerticalLayout Signup Page in Vaadin 14
Mark Garrett
@moderndeveloperllc
@sriharrsha Might want to take that over to the https://gitter.im/vaadin/flow or https://gitter.im/vaadin/framework-8 rooms as you are focusing on the Java side of things. This room is more focused only on the front-end components that Vaadin produces.
Tomi Virkki
@tomivirkki
@moderndeveloperllc They will remain alpha for some time yes. Only once we're confident enough with the foundation (the structure of new mixins etc), we can start releasing betas. So far we've only had a couple of our "simpler" components converted, so I'd expect some changes to the shared modules once we get to some of the more complex ones (combo-box, grid, date-picker...).
Mark Garrett
@moderndeveloperllc
@tomivirkki Thanks for the info. FWIW, I was having good luck with them for the most part. I'm just getting too close to release to rely on alpha versions right now. I'll put them back into my dev branches once there is more being done with them. Hopefully all the TypeScript work y'all are doing will help with the transition.

Hi, I'm getting the error: Uncaught DOMException: CustomElementRegistry.define: 'vaadin-lumo-styles' has already been defined as a custom element when I run my app. Before I provide more details, am I in the right place or should I be asking my question in a different room?
Mark Garrett
@moderndeveloperllc
@knjk04 This is indeed the correct place. That error 90% of the time has to do with the package manager (npm or yarn) not resolving a dependency correctly. You will want to delete your node_modules directory and the package.lock/yarn.lock and run the install again for the items in your package.json. Be sure to clear your browser cache and any service worker cached files after the rebuild. If you are still having issues, put up a gist of as much of your package.json file as you can and I, or others, can see if there is anything really conflicting or not.

@knjk04
@moderndeveloperllc Thanks for the help. It's still not working, so here's my package.json: https://gist.github.com/knjk04/0daff2fbc993062679716fa11d4240ad

Hello am evaluating Vaadin 14 for creating a dashboard for transactions data.
Am using spline timeseries chart which displays daily balance. How can I access the currently selected to and from dates on selector change?
I want to be able to use this to display relevant transactions on right hand pane of the page.

Have tried implementing listeners. addChartRedrawListener, addChartLoadListener are the only ones getting invoked on selector update, but not seeing the currently selected dates in the events objects. Any pointers?

HI Guys, I am trying to use Vaadin components in Next JS. I have tried steps of React JS, but while launching I keep seeing this

import './theme/lumo/vaadin-button.js';
^^^^^^
SyntaxError: Cannot use import statement outside a module

Next JS runs on ES6, why isn't it accepting vaadin components, any idea?

Hey, I*
I'am really new to web components and frontend developing does anybody have a good example how to use vaadin grid with lit-html?

I get an error Uncaught DOMException: Failed to execute 'define' on 'CustomElementRegistry': the name "vaadin-lumo-styles" has already been used with this registry
at http://localhost:3001/vaadin-grid-filter-column.js:7:16
Kari Söderholm
@Haprog
@akhilgangula I have no experience with Next JS but import can only be used in ES modules so you need to have it in a <script type="module">. See https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/JavaScript/Guide/Modules#Applying_the_module_to_your_HTML
@knuspertante vaadin-grid with LitElement example https://glitch.com/edit/#!/vaadin-grid-renderer?path=app.js%3A58%3A19
Kari Söderholm
@Haprog
That error means that either you have some dependency issue so that you have more than one version of vaadin-lumo-styles (and possibly other deps) installed or vaadin-lumo-styles is being loaded from two different URLs for some other reason.
You might be trying to use incompatible versions of some components (which depend on different versions of vaadin-lumo-styles) or just something wrong with installed packages (might help to delete package-lock.json and reinstall with npm install)
knuspertante
@knuspertante
@Haprog thx, but vaadin-grid version ^5.6.6 always throw that error if I want to use vaadin-grid/vaading-grid-filter-column
Kari Söderholm
@Haprog
@knuspertante Are you using other Vaadin components (if so, which components and versions?) or only vaadin-grid?

Hey everyone. I'm currently experience major issues with vaadin-grid in the iOS 14 Beta (user agent is saying Safari 14.0) , scrolling seems to not work at all. I'm able to reproduce this on the vaadin-grid example page on an iPad. Are you guys aware of this? I didn't make an issue on github since I don't know if it's appropriate with iOS 14 still in beta.

When using vaadin-radio-button with unpkg,

<script type="module" src="https://unpkg.com/@vaadin/vaadin-radio-button@2.0.0-alpha1/vaadin-radio-button.js?module"></script>

the browser complains:

Uncaught DOMException: Failed to execute 'define' on 'CustomElementRegistry': the name "dom-module" has already been used with this registry at https://unpkg.com/@polymer/polymer@3.4.1/lib/elements/dom-module.js?module:164:16
Kari Söderholm
@Haprog
@Sunbreak I'm not sure but I think this might be the issue you're seeing mjackson/unpkg#121
Sunbreak
@Sunbreak
https://github.com/vaadin/vaadin/ shows vaadin-radio-button is based on LitElement. I suppose it available via unpkg then?
Kari Söderholm
@Haprog
Iirc the theming/styling (e.g. Lumo theme) is still based on style modules depending on dom-module from Polymer. Even though the component implementation is based on LitElement. Some dependencies still pull in Polymer.

Anyone can help? Started suddenly I have designed a gallery for the images as well and also started to have problem loading images from the hard drive.
I don't if both things are related but all these issues started together.
Any Idea?

Hi guys, I am using vaadin-text-field element and I would like to use pre-defined options. There is the "list" property for that and the documentation says the value must be the id of a <datalist> element in the same document. Is <datalist> here a specific object or class?
