    hi, anyone there?
    Sean McDonnell
    @seanconormcdonnell
    Has anyone run into "Dom Exception 18" I have the plugin installed properly (as far as I can tell) and I am able to confirm with "typeof Instagram.share" in the console. If the canvas is empty the Instagram.share function works as expected except that there is no image that gets passed to Instagram of corse because the image is blank. If the image is not blank and the canvas has an image drawn on it then I get an alert that reads " :0 Script error." In the debugger it shows "[Error] SecurityError: DOM Exception 18: An attempt was made to break through the security policy of the user agent.

    Hi
    I am using this with ngCordova, but when i try to use $cordovaInstagram in my controllers, it gives an error saying that it's not included within ngCordova
    Vlad Știrbu
    @vstirbu
    This looks more like ngCordova issue. I have not used it personally in that context so cannot say too much.
    I can help with the plugin itself

    Hi @vstirbu , great plugin, everything is working fine. There is a small problem. When I post to Instagram and the image has been posted, how do I get the success callback in my own application?
    Vlad Știrbu
    @vstirbu
    The last argument of share is the callback function. it will be called when the share procedure is completed. The error is the first argument of the callback. if you get an error then something went wrong, if you get null then the share was successful.
    Kunal Nagar
    @kunalnagar
    Instagram.share(imageDataURI, data.description, function (err) {
                        if (err) {
                            console.log("not shared");
                        } else {
                            console.log('shared');
                        }
    });
    I'm using this code, I know about the callback. So you're saying, when the image is posted in Instagram, i'll get the "shared" message in my console? If yes, then nothing of that sort is happening.
    Kunal Nagar
    @kunalnagar
    @vstirbu in short, my question is how does the plugin know how to redirect back to the main application after posting to instagram? Because, it just shows "finishing up" and the instagram app stays.
    Asanka Nissanka
    @asanka-x
    @vstirbu Yeah, it seems so, i m thinking of directly using the plugin instead of through ngCordova. Anyways thanks for the response

    @asanka-x
    Hey @vstirbu another small question. Can we use this passing only a caption and not including an image (null or empty) ??
    because in my use case, i need only to have a caption, so the user can take the image from the instagram app itself
    Vlad Știrbu
    @vstirbu
    @asanka-x that is an interesting case, i have not thought before about it. the assumption is that you start by sharing an image. actually, the caption was added latter.
    @kunalnagar so, you don't get the log even after returning to the app? what os are you on? can you try also with the test application https://github.com/vstirbu/instagramplugin-example
    Kunal Nagar
    @kunalnagar
    @vstirbu after posting the image, i can only return to the app by going to the multi-tasking menu and clicking on my original app. And when that happens, i always get the "err" object.
    im running android 5.1 on a nexus 5
    Vlad Știrbu
    @vstirbu
    @kunalnagar looks like this vstirbu/InstagramPlugin#31 Instagram app might not play that nice with its activity return codes
    Kunal Nagar
    @kunalnagar
    @vstirbu i understand. the thing is i am unable to get the "share successful" state no matter how i work with the app. if i return to the original app, it always gives an error state. do you think this is fixable in the near future?
    Vlad Știrbu
    @vstirbu
    It all depends on the result returned from app. The plugin worked fine untill instagram changed the flow of the successful share when it does not return to the app
    Asanka Nissanka
    @asanka-x
    @vstirbu Is opening sharing screen possible in instagram ? If so will you be adding that in future ?
    Daksa Media.Inc
    @daksamedia
    is it possible to login to Instagram without using angularJS or Ionic Platform?
    Vlad Știrbu
    @vstirbu
    yes. use https://github.com/nraboy/ng-cordova-oauth. the ionic/angularjs plugin is just a wrapper for this one.
    Daksa Media.Inc
    @daksamedia
    how could I get the API to get user's information?
    any sample?
    Vlad Știrbu
    @vstirbu
    use the access token to make a request to /users/self
    Daksa Media.Inc
    @daksamedia
    how to make a request by using this plugins?
    Vlad Știrbu
    @vstirbu
    You dob't have to use any plugin. It would be a standard http request augmented with the access token obtained earlier.
    Daksa Media.Inc
    @daksamedia
    So, I need to direct the user to the access token link?
    Vlad Știrbu
    @vstirbu
    nope. you have to craft yourself a xhr/ajax request. more info here about the endpoints: https://instagram.com/developer/endpoints/users/
