just joined wallabag.it and set up everything to move from pocket .... but even after checking 4-5 issues and different branches to figure out if a search is existing where i can combine tags left me unknown and confused
can anybody give me a hint?

I consider using Wallabag but I'd like to migrate 6200 starred articles from my RSS reader.
I'll need to develop a script to dump articles in a supported importable format.
Also, most of articles are already downloaded (some are even dead links), while a few need to be downloaded.
I'd like to discuss with this to a Wallabag developer. Thanks.
I guess I'll use the Wallabag API and my own task scheduling, it's totally doable and easier like that. The API provides a way to set the content or to give only a URL.

updated my docker wallabag by doing docker-compose pull wallabag as I usually do successfully but not this time. After the pull I get random errors mostly related to db (mysql) saying for instance "wallabag_oauth2_clients no such table". I went into the mysql container, verified that the table is there and I can view the content by doing select * from wallabag_oauth2_clients.
So of course when I go to the website I get a blank page. I noticed that if I delete the db and start with a new one the web page displays correctly and I can log in.
Not sure what to do or where to look since the 2 tables it complains are not there (wallabag_oauth2_clients and wallabag_internal_setting) are there and can be accessed.
any help or clue much appreciated

yesterday I tried to import my Pocket items (more or less 500 items) on my new wallabag.it account. After submitting the import, it was generated the message "Import is made asynchronously. Once the import task is started, an external worker will handle jobs one at a time. The current service is: RabbitMQ", but 24 hours later I've NO evidence that my job is correctly working and how much time it takes to finish the import.
Is there a way to obtain any information about the import process?

@kdecherf and the best proof is that when I delete the db, I get no errors, the web page displays correctly and I can log in.

Hi, I've subscribed to wallabag.it as I found self-hosting on my NAS wasn't as responsive as the website. I deleted all entries on my wallabag.it account, exported all from my self-hosted wallabag instance in .json format and it said "Import is made asynchronously. Once the import task is started, an external worker will handle jobs one at a time. The current service is: RabbitMQ", as mentioned above by micramm. But nothing gets imported - I've tried twice now. If I go back to the import option a few hours later on wallbag.it, sometimes it reports an error saying the file isn't in the correct format. But I had this about a week ago, a day or two later I had duplicates of all my entries (both imports worked). Is this a common issue with the wallabag.it site - as currently I am unable to import my data ...
Hello Just found the app and got it setup. Like it and pretty much exactly what I've been looking for, but hadn't found. Would this be the place to make a request though? I'll just put it out there so it can be decided if even doable. would it be possible to show annotations while browsing and/or annotate directly from webpage? Something like this extension for chrome https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/beanote-note-taking-on-we/nikccehomlnjkmgmhnieecolhgdafajb/related?hl=en but tied into the wallabag server instead of where ever that extension puts stuff. Basically would love to annotate the web to my own server, and see any notes when I revisit pages. also that's a chrome extension and I have stuck with firefox. sure there's a similar one for firefox, but where the data is going is the problem. not a dev, so not sure the complexity this might entail. would be willing to through some cash on this request if that helps. :) of course that helps.

What you're describing may be too far from the main goal of wallabag. Maybe https://web.hypothes.is/ could be a better fit for you? It seems to have a self-hosted option too with documentation (I did not tested it though)

wallabag is more for archiving content you want to read later, annotations are confined to saved pages
Archiving is a big part of what I want. Basically looking for a killer app for research/notebook. Which I get isn't wallabags focus, but liking it for the use case really. Just thought that maybe since there was an annotation area with wallabag that it might be an easy/beneficial feature. Part of my prob with my current mess of notes is I have notes in about 5 apps cause I can't find one that does everything I want. There are definitely duplicates. Which is where I was thinking that if the annotations could be loaded with the page, I'd know I'd already been on that page, then modify if needed. I'm just getting tired of my mess of notes that I currently have and moving towards a time where the organization will be needed.
showing annotations from wallabag on the original page would not be straightforward as the content is modified when saved [in wallabag] so it would be difficult to get the expected position of the annotations
On a side note, there's an open request for adding support of Hypothesis on wallabag: wallabag/wallabag#5484

Hello there! Since this morning, I've been getting HTTP 500 errors while trying to sync the Android app with the default app.wallabag.it server. Interestingly I'm not getting those in the browser app. Any hints on where I should report this to?
I've attached the stacktrace if it's interesting for anyone.

Just for future reference - going through the "Configure your Android app" process again, while incurring minor data loss of the unsynced archived/added items since last morning, worked nicely. 👍️
Hi everybody, I am trying to refine the siteconfig for heise. Thereby I am struggling with the following problem is there a way in graby to unwrap inner tags? For example lets take this article view-source:https://www.heise.de/ratgeber/Statt-WLAN-Alternative-Leitungswege-fuers-heimische-Internet-6337619.html you see within the figure tag there is an a-img tag and inside this is the real img tag. Is there a good way to unwrap the inner img tag from the surrounding a-img tag?

h try to run wallabag with running./scripts/dev.shafter do all of them when it try to run get this errorSQLSTATE[HY000]: General error: 1 no such table: tablenamesome how it can't create table but i don't have any clue why not

@aschilling: by garbage I meant "a container without any effect", it should be retrieved normally by wallabag
Hi everybody, I try to refine the heise siteconfig. I stumbled accross the following question: How to I define linebreaks in the replace_string command? The following command works:
replace_string(class="js-pswp-image): class="test . However the following code does not work: replace_string(<a class="js-pswp-image): <a class="testAs far as I understand the reason for it is that the a-tag and the class-definition are in separate lines. How would I have to adjust the command?
