I think we can consider the XSLT question resolved then: negative!

@drjwbaker I don’t necessarily think so - I think it is about the uses we should be targeting that we need to look at

@ostephens Okay. So wrapping this up with use cases already identified in, say, the OpenRefine lesson?

@drjwbaker So I think from @timtomch we have the web scraping/HTML parsing use case
@drjwbaker and from Nora we have the TEI processing /Digital Humanities use case

@ostephens Both sound great and at the same time kinda generic to me. Might they fit Dc better?

I think you could say that about most of LC :)
So I think if we see a need for librarians and we have library specific examples to use in the lessons, then it would fit in LC

ALL!! We're planing a meetup (Skype/Hangouts/whatever) to discuss 1) State of Play Document 2) Pros/Cons of closer alignment to SWC/DC 3) Where we want to be in 6, 12, 18 months. If you want to be involved, please add your name here https://github.com/data-lessons/librarycarpentry/issues/7#issuecomment-245601719 (where there is more details on the 'agenda') and I will send a Doodle Poll round in an attempt to find a time most of us can make (which given timezones, may be tricky!) THANKS!
@ostephens Shall we ask some people?

Hi there. I'm ready to cover the web scraping bit, but this will have to wait until late September. I am still trying to finish my thesis on top of full-time employment and I have to shut down everything else in order to make it... :(
@drjwbaker I am still VERY interested in participating in that initiative but I'm afraid I can't commit to anything until then.
But I will try to be there at the meeting when it happens. Thanks for taking care of all this.
