Hi @jezcope I thought it must be new but it seems like it's been around a while https://github.com/datacarpentry/spreadsheet-ecology-lesson/

@/all Some good lessons here from Intersect in NSW - the OpenRefine lesson has a lot of URL fetching which people often want. Also they have a regex lesson http://www.intersect.org.au/course-resources

The NSW records thing is broken though in the OR course - there is a new API but the Intersct material has not been updated to reflect that yet https://data.records.nsw.gov.au/?p=145

@drjwbaker I'm getting quite a lot of requests that are variations on "how can we run a LC workshop" and "will you come and deliver this training for us" off the back of last week's talks and this month's workshops — are you still acting as UK co-ordinator for now?

@richyvk that's a pity you cannot come, @jezcope for people from the Netherlands I contacted it turned out to be too late to arrange, so I think you can take the spot from the once I have and a colleague of your can come from institutional parnership

@weaverbel and @drjwbaker - I have a question and I’m not sure if this is the right place or not to ask (so please direct me as necessary).

I’m part of an organization called NEASIST a chapter of ASIST - the Association for Information Science and Technology, with NEASIST being the local New England chapter in the US. About 18 months ago we received some grant money to develop lesson plans for teaching librarians technology skills similar to DST4L (Data Science Training 4 Librarians developed by @libcce) and we’ve been struggling to find individuals interested in building the lesson plans. When we first applied for the funding the Library Carpentry group was just getting starting and now that it seems like there is a community forming here. I think there is significant overlap and, while we’d have to figure out all the details, it seems like this might be mutually beneficial partnership. It's not a lot of money but it might be helpful.

If there is interest, maybe we could setup a phone call to talk things over.
