Hi wieldo ! Formly noob here, wanted to ask you a quick question rather than opening a "non-issue" for it. I'm currently transitioning a project from Blaze to Angular and the worst part for me right now is moving away from auto form. I found your package but cannot make it work right now, the way I see it this is due to the fact that I don't have templating capacity (Vanilla / Bootstrap ... ) I tried with bootstrap but turns out all the Meteor implementations seems outdated compared to formly API. In the #2, I could see that you mentioned writing your own templates using formlyMaterial. Is there a way to generate a fully automatic form or do I have to take care of every fields manually ? Thanks !
Kamil Kisiela
@kamilkisiela
Hi @Sikwan, I just turned on my PC, you lucky bastard! :smile:
angular-formly is a package to generate forms
François Vanderkelen
@Sikwan
Nice to have some luck for once ;)
:smile:
Kamil Kisiela
@kamilkisiela
maybe in other way. Angular-formly generates forms but requires a template to display that form
François Vanderkelen
@Sikwan
I see, I guess I jumped the gun by seeing the similarity between <auto-formly and auto-form ! So I guess I need to take care of the template configuration for each of my fields ?
Kamil Kisiela
@kamilkisiela
so you can use formly-js/angular-formly-templates-bootstrap or lumx or material etc
François Vanderkelen
@Sikwan
Did you try one of the atmosphere package for that ?
They all throw an API exception, guessing they needs to be updated
Kamil Kisiela
@kamilkisiela
there are few packages for bootstrap on formly but i have no idea are they working
there are just wrappers created by random users
François Vanderkelen
@Sikwan
I guessed so yes :( Will create my own then
Thanks a lot !
Kamil Kisiela
@kamilkisiela
If you want i could ask people from formly-js team if they interesed in official support for atmospherejs
François Vanderkelen
@Sikwan
I think that would be invaluable, having users doing that is never good in the long run
Kamil Kisiela
@kamilkisiela
in "official support" i meant auto publishing new releases
some extra thing in build process
François Vanderkelen
@Sikwan
Yes that is what I meant as well, meteor add formly:.... rather than having to find out which user have the most advanced version
Kamil Kisiela
@kamilkisiela
i thought few days ago about moving all my formly stuff to formly organisation. I will talk with kent about it
François Vanderkelen
@Sikwan
Well in your case it is pretty much updated ;)
Kamil Kisiela
@kamilkisiela
so it will be for example
formly:angular-formly
formly:angular-formly-templates-material
etc
François Vanderkelen
@Sikwan
Makes sense
Kamil Kisiela
@kamilkisiela
i use it in my projects so i try to keep it updated as much as i can
I assure you that angular-material templates for formly will be up to date in atomsphere
François Vanderkelen
@Sikwan
Great new, thanks a lot !
Kamil Kisiela
@kamilkisiela
I'm going to talk about formly organisation on atmosphere and send you message with results :)
François Vanderkelen
@Sikwan
Really nice of you
Kamil Kisiela
@kamilkisiela
@Sikwan You can use now packages from https://atmospherejs.com/formly
François Vanderkelen
@Sikwan
Thanks a lot !
Leo
@tonglei100
where is a demo?
Kamil Kisiela
@kamilkisiela
@tongxiaobai I haven't created demo yet but I will do one example for you today or by tomorrow's morning. I'm going to rewrite readme so it will be much more readable and obvious :)
Leo
@tonglei100
@kamilkisiela thank you :)
Kamil Kisiela
@kamilkisiela
@tongxiaobai Here is an example for you. https://github.com/kamilkisiela/meteor-autoformly-example
Feel free to message me if you have some questions
Keep on mind that work is still in progress and there might be few bugs. You can use autoFormly component but it is not finished yet.
I'm going to move autoFormly directly to angular-meteor 1.4. So we're skipping 1.3 version but I think it will be working on both versions

Hello there, nice job with autoformly :) Is there any docs to use 'options="vm.options"'? I would like to customize the design of my form and I don't know how.
Kamil Kisiela
@kamilkisiela

Unfortunately, there are no docs :( Short on time.

Look here:
https://github.com/wieldo/meteor-autoformly#convert-all-schema-fields-excluding-one

Basically options="vm.options" is the same as options in autoFormly.collection and autoFormly.schema. Link from above is to one of the examples. You can check there few others too.

You can use use all: false to stop displaying all fields. Use fields key-value object where values can be true / false which means show / hide field and the key is field's id.
You can even specify custom settings for each field instead of Boolean value. Those settings are the same as in angular-formly.
You can read more in previous messages about that angular-formly
feel free to contribute or to ask more questions :)

@lorenzogm
Hello kamilkisiela, thank you very much for your answer!

@jpmermoz

Hi! I was wondering if this library works with Angular Meteor (Using Meteor 1.3).. I'm getting errors like:

Uncaught Error: Cannot find module 'angular
Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'angular2now' of undefined
Uncaught ReferenceError: meteorInstall is not defined

Thanks!
