    This room will be used to coordinate the CharityPillars project. The GitHub repository is located here: https://github.com/NapierDevSoc/CharityPillars
    There will be two components to the CharityPillars project, the Teensy-based hardware and LED strips and the Android application software that will allow users to interact with it over Bluetooth.
    Each different component of the project will be checked into its own separate branch in Git. If you're unfamiliar Git and need help with an explanation, ask in this channel.
    At this time, anyone who is wanting to volunteer to assist with the project should make it known in here.

    App team!
    Also, where do we begin?

    Hi, @amanewgirl . @GrahamWalters is going to look into setting up an Android project in the repo that we'll use in the future, but right now I suggest prototyping. Install the Android SDK, get a feel for the basics via some tutorials. This is what I'm going to be doing. Hopefully within the next week or so we'll have something we can start committing code to.
    It would be great if we could have a wireframe mock up of the way the app should look, but I'm only just finding out about how to achieve that and the tools are terrible that I have access to.

    Yeah, pencil and paper seem to be the best tools for that. Unfortunately I'll be too busy to get the repo up tomorrow, so I'll try and get it up on Thursday.

    For the app I did, I just used Paint++ for mockups which is effective as well for when we actually design the icons-that is until we have a proper design student helping us out hopefully. I'll do some to start us off :smile:

    I've created a new android app here: https://github.com/NapierDevSoc/CharityPillars/tree/android

    Let me know if you have any problems getting it to run on your machines :smile:

    Neat, will take a look this weekend. Thanks!

    My laptop has been sent back from Lenovo, finally. I'm going to set up the Android SDK on it this week and have a play. Any luck getting advice on the Arduino, @GrahamWalters ?

    Hey @GrahamWalters its not working on my machine, can't seem to find a root directory. don't know what's up, forked it, cloned it, downloaded it and opened up some of the files manual but it's still not importing into the workspace, its mind boggling. vis a vis mock ups everyone: have some ideas though they are by no means fully worked/thought through. Asking a friend to come up with some kind of logo design we could fit match the interface to and am continuing research. in the meantime I was thinking the basic functionality looked like this https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B98kLZ3ViUx4VWM4OUdFQnROQkU/view?usp=sharing

    @GrahamWalters
    @amanewgirl it sounds like you're trying to import it into eclipse, it's an Android Studio project so that's not going to work. http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html

    So, my last coursework is due the 1st of March. I will begin playing with the Android stuff around then.
    I am just going to focus on UI and multiple screens and how they work with another first.
    We can then embed the mini activities and games into those.
