    hi
    Can you help me?
    Dalton Spillman
    @daltonks
    Hey Matthew, I was wondering if Clang for UWP was a near-future priority. I am running into performance problems when drawing rotated images on UWP, and it is still slow when trying out v2.80.0-pr.1010.14.

    @daltonks I have not actually had a look at that... I don't think it will be a near-future thing. I do want to get that in, but I have been focusing on the updates and probably WASM first
    the issue is that UWP doesn't support clang out of the box and things need to be done... but not impossible
    maybe slap an upvote on that issue and it will rise up the list

    Looks like there is already a toolchain made by Google to support this: https://skia.org/user/build#windows
    So in theory just some small adjustment
    Matthew Leibowitz
    @mattleibow_twitter
    I think that is just for Win32
    I am using clang for "desktop"

    Thank you for the response! By upvote, do you mean a thumbs-up?
    Matthew Leibowitz
    @mattleibow_twitter
    When I tried clang for UWP last, there were some issues
    @daltonks yes
    I'll give clang a go for UWP sometime and see how it goes
    maybe the issues are fixed
    i think it might have had to do with the fact that UWP is not statically linked
    or something eird

    @daltonks
    Good deal, I just did that. I can get around the issue for now, but I would like users to be able to upload and rotate pictures in the future if possible.
    Thanks guys

    @mattleibow Will we get another preview package with Vulkan bits after Clang 10 gets merged?
    Matthew Leibowitz
    @mattleibow_twitter
    releasing one now
    :smile:
    my apple certs have expired or something, so I was fighting with the CI gods
    i lost of course
    now i need to figure out why CI wont even run
    but, pushing out the latest on develop now
    oh, it's done
    lol

    This is going to be the new face of SkiaSharp
    not yet in this release, but the assets are in and ready

    @mattleibow This alpha 8 is built using clang 9 or 10??
    Matthew Leibowitz
    @mattleibow_twitter
    Clang 9
    Dariusz KomosiƄski
    @MarchingCube
    Was there any perf difference between 9 and 10?
    Matthew Leibowitz
    @mattleibow_twitter
    Havent actually done any testing
    Dariusz KomosiƄski
    @MarchingCube
    Ah, I was just wondering
    Matthew Leibowitz
    @mattleibow_twitter
    let me push that PR build and you can try any tests
    ah, that is the old code
    let me first update
    Matthew Leibowitz
    @mattleibow_twitter
    @MarchingCube I am pushing a version that uses Clang 10 right now... v2.80.0-pr.1286.3
    Both for Win32 and Linux
    @Gillibald You were using clang 10? Did you notice anything?
    Matthew Leibowitz
    @mattleibow
    @Gillibald rather... not sure what happened to that link
    Benedikt Stebner
    @Gillibald
    Can't really tell if there was a difference. I don't expect anything to change much.

    @mattleibow does Skia(Sharp) support a form of dirty rect invalidation? I have a large canvas and on an update i don't want to redraw every element on it, just a region where the update happens. very much like the new icon btw ;-)
    Dalton Spillman
    @daltonks
    @kai_low0n_twitter The way I found is by clipping the canvas using a path or region: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/xamarin/xamarin-forms/user-interface/graphics/skiasharp/curves/clipping
