@fippo Hey, I was wondering if you could help me out with something - I'm trying to use localMedia to build a type of "preview video settings" dialog, and I can't figure out how to get the echo/feedback to go away.
I notice that simplewebrtc has some code for muting other users to remove echo, but how does it remove echo from the local user?
I'd like to still be capturing audio, so I can show an audio volume bar, providing visual feedback to the user that audio is working.

using mediastream-gain actually crashes chrome for me, so passing autoAdjustMic: true to localMedia or SimpleWebRTC fails

ok, so I can't believe I didn't try this before, but just added muted to the video tags for the local video solves it, but that's not what SimpleWebRTC does, so I'm curious what the difference is, and why.

    Oh man I'm an idiot.
it's attachmediastream - it takes muted as an option, for muting local streams.
