What is the intended use for the 'extra_data' array in each caption element?

It's the JSON files included as a field for each caption. So each caption has 'start', 'duration', 'value', and then an element called 'extra_data' which is an array. I haven't looked through each extra_data element every caption in all of the files, but it looks like they're all empty. Just wanted to know if that's some field you had requested that holds some important part of certain captions.

Is the "value" the text information string (or caption blocks)?
Possibly the extra data field could be used for flagging a caption block as edited or unedited?
I can't think of anything else
It's obviously my first programmer trying to future proof things etc
How's progress?

It's going well. Arthur and I are going to pair tonight and try to split up more tasks. I took all of the files you sent last night and loaded them into a mongodb collection so now we'll have some data to work on with the backend. It's quite a bit of a learning curve to get through all of the various captioning tools and apis out there.

We're still working on how to get the ASRs straight from youtube, so maybe that field is something in the captions they produce.
