thanks. were you interested in contributing to yasp or did you just want some help using the retriever to get MMR data?

I'm currently going through the motions of deploying YASP on a vps of mine. I thought I'd idle in here in case I had any questions.
I'm a java dev - so while I'd love to help out, I don't know the first thing about node or really js dev

haha okay. As a starting point you can probably follow the Quickstart on the GitHub README. That'll get you started with node.
I assume you're only interested in MMR, so you'll only need to run retriever.js
If you want to help with YASP, the parser is written in Java, so you could take a look at that if you like, within /parser in the repo
It's a Maven project, and there's some duplicated code and other messiness

That, I can do :)
I've managed to get retriever.js up and running under an alt steam account of mine. Using a lot of the default values from config.js. However visiting the server on port 5000 gives me back json with error: "invalid key"
I'm certain I'm missing some configuration - but I've no idea what

Ah yes, the default key is "shared_secret_with_retriever". You can customize that if you like
