    chmod 644 id_rsa is correct?
    after doing chmod 644 it's still showing -rw-rw----
    Am I missing something? :see_no_evil:
    Mohamed Zenadi
    @zeapo
    try 0644
    Jonathan Bergen
    @jonathanbergen
    nope.. didn't work..
    Mohamed Zenadi
    @zeapo
    try chmod a+r
    Jonathan Bergen
    @jonathanbergen
    I'm doing chmod as root with adb shell
    Could that somehow be a problem?
    still showing -rw-rw----
    Mohamed Zenadi
    @zeapo
    I dunno, maybe @wongma7 has an idea
    Jonathan Bergen
    @jonathanbergen
    Thanks @zeapo, at least now I do know the issue is related to security reasons. It seams it is not possible to change permissions on files stored on the (emulated) sdcard.
    I'm kinda stuck now, tho :D
    Mohamed Zenadi
    @zeapo
    I see, that’s interesting to put in the FAQ
    well, you can move it somewhere else
    in fact you do not have to use 644 if you intend to delete the private key afterwards
    APS copies the private key and sets the right permissions in its own directory
    only root and APS can access it
    Jonathan Bergen
    @jonathanbergen
    I moved id_rsa to another (/data) folder, changed successfully the permissions, moved it back to /sdcard and permissions are gone :D
    problem is, I can not dir to /data with APS and androids file chooser
    Mohamed Zenadi
    @zeapo
    hehe
    how did you get the key onto your device?
    Jonathan Bergen
    @jonathanbergen
    adb push
    Mohamed Zenadi
    @zeapo
    could you use a file explorer that allows file edits?
    like Root explorer or any app like that
    Jonathan Bergen
    @jonathanbergen
    I tried, but even they are not able to change file's permissions if it is stored on the emulated sdcard
    now I'm trying to inject the keys into APS's own file directory
    no luck with that either :(
    Jonathan Bergen
    @jonathanbergen
    At least I experienced some of android's/cyanogen's security features :D
    Mohamed Zenadi
    @zeapo
    yeah, it’s probably cyanogen that does that, I never had this issue with stock even with an adb push
    (no root)
    Jonathan Bergen
    @jonathanbergen
    Sometimes it just helps reading carefully. Didn't get that your sdcard is an emulated sdcard which is implemented permissionless. This means it is right behavior that chmod/chown do not work at all
    ..if that helps for FAQ whenever someone else runs into this issue
    Matthew Wong
    @wongma7
    no permission? is it android m "permissions" issue then ,rather than file permissions?
    Jonathan Bergen
    @jonathanbergen
    Hey Matthew, no it's not due to m's "permissions" chmodsimply has no effects on files, stored on the emulated sd card..

    Hi @zeapo, can I help you translating your app?
    Mohamed Zenadi
    @zeapo
    Hi @Fabiuz99, sorry for the delay. Sure! Just open a Pull Request :)

    @Abbotta4
    Hi guys. Anyone know why I would get a "not permitted" error when trying to push changes?
    I'm using a bitbucket repo FWIW

    @Abbotta4 are you using https?
    Abbotta4
    @Abbotta4
    @zeapo I am using ssh with a private key
    Sorry, I thought I was going to get a notification when there was a reply but I guess I didn't set the option of something
    Or*
    Abbotta4
    @Abbotta4
    Found out the problem was I had set my public key as a deployment key and not my personal SSH key on bitbucket. After switching the setting everything is working. Sorry for the confusion!

    @matrixbot
    fadenb Hey, is the BTC address in the readme still current? Would love to show my appreciation :)
    Mohamed Zenadi
    @zeapo
    @Abbotta4 glad you solved your issue ^^
    Mohamed Zenadi
    @zeapo
    The bitcoin address is no longer listed, I will have to generate one especially for APS :)

    I just installed the app from F-Droid and I've downloaded and set up the git repo. I can copy and paste passwords manually, but the autofill part gives me problems. When I focus a password field, the overlay shows up, but none of the buttons responds to anything (except the 'settings' button which brings me straight to the app). I saw that autofill was removed from google play, but how about the F-Droid version?
