On the pages before we use the query planner to give an estimate.
We always fetch the current page + 1, so that we will never show a “next” if there isn’t a next page.
Arthur Clemens
@ArthurClemens
I see
Marc Worrell
@mworrell
I am thinking of adding an extra flag in the search result. Like is_count_estimated
The we can adapt the shown result to something like page 2 of about 260
Arthur Clemens
@ArthurClemens
That would not improve the pager though
Marc Worrell
@mworrell
Yes, that estimated is useful for a counter. For the pager it might be a hint to not display the “last page” navigation. Just like Google et al.

Hey @mworrell Is there a good tool to find connections between different resources and the path between them?
Jonathan
@steele232
I know I could export daya to RDF type data and then use other tools to find paths but I was just wondering if there is a way to do it in Zotonic natively
Jonathan
@steele232
I have been able to put various relationships on the page for each resource so I can get pretty far with that. If I tried to do a ton of traversals, would that result in a a ton of calls to the database?
Marc Worrell
@mworrell
Hi, maybe you could so some grouped calls. Important to restrict the max traversal depth.
It is an interesting subject.
How far do you want to follow the edges?
Jonathan
@steele232
Long story short. Finding family tree / common ancestors between individuals could be a mountain of edge traversals and finding shared interests among individuals would also be quite a lot of edge traversals. I would be willing to write some custom code for it possibly as well. Can grouping db calls work with either or those two use cases or maybe you know of a better way?
And I could potentially restrict traversal depth or make it configurable.
Thanks for your help and time
Jonathan
@steele232
I could probably do family tree stuff in a different tool but I would like to do the shared interests type thing in Zotonic if possible.
And I would be willing to write code to make it happen

Hi
I am trying to make an ecommerce website and using Zotonic for the same. I am not able to install the docker image, I am sorry but I don't find instructions to be exact.
I am using Docker Desktop and pulling the image from hub
Gaurav
@webspeller

"First download and install Docker . Then build and start Zotonic with a single command:

$ ./start-docker.sh
Docker will download and boot the container. The container will start building Zotonic. After which Zotonic can be started with:

bash-4.4$ bin/zotonic debug" Where to run the single command?Linux terminal? Windows Terminal? Any location? Folder? any file?

Jonathan
@steele232
it would be within the docker container's terminal/console. I'm not exactly sure where the root directory of the zotonic project will be but that is the directory to run the 'bin/zotonic debug' command from
Gaurav
@webspeller
That is from within. Ultimately I had to quit using Docker and I used Ubuntu on WSL2 on windows
Marc Worrell
@mworrell
We provided those containers for convenience, but I never use Docker myself. That is also because Docker on macOS is an exercise in patience…
Happy to know that Windows > WSL2 > Ubuntu works. Quite some OS stacking going on there…
@steele232 about the edge things, I am thinking it could be an addition to the edge model. Something with “overlap” and “path” with max depths.
Jonathan
@steele232
@mworrell Ok that sounds like a good idea.

With {% url_abs home %} I am getting

No scomp enabled for "url_abs"

Has this been deprecated?

Arthur Clemens
@ArthurClemens
Second question: if I have an SSL certificate, and I add a host alias www later on, how do I reset or update the current certificate to also include www?
Marc Worrell
@mworrell
I have to check the url_abs.
For the certificate, if you use the LE module then the new certificate will be picked up automatically. (It flushes the SSL caches)
Arthur Clemens
@ArthurClemens
I don’t see how this can work. The certificate is now for the naked domain only. Should I click again on “Request certificate”?
Arthur Clemens
@ArthurClemens

How do I install an external module (mod_geomap in this case)? Using zotonic modules install mod_geomap gives

Command not found: modules

Following the URL at the ./bin/zotonic command: "See http://zotonic.com/docs/latest/manuals/cli.html for more info.” results in a “This page does not exist yet"

Marc Worrell
@mworrell
About LE: in the admin you will see a lost of domains that you can include in your certificate. Check the ones you want to include and click the request-certificate button. That is all.
Only domains that are routable to the site are included.
External modules: clone the repo (https://github.com/zotonic/zotonic_mod_geomap) in apps_user.
You can also add it to you rebar.config file, but that is more when you can use Zotonic as a Hex dependency (which we are testing at the moment).
For the url_abs, I think it was removed in favor of url with absolute_url option. But I think that it is easier to have the url_abs tag, so maybe we should reinstate it.
